This case reeks of lack-of-institutional-control. UM claims no other coaches knew about this. So UM had a staffer conduct his illegal advanced scouting campaign for three years and UM didn't know about it?!?! That is the textbook definition of lack-of-institutional-control!

When you have a 'celebrity' in a position of institutional leadership, whether it be Knute Rockne, Bill Belichick, Jim Harbaugh or Mr. Trump even, you're going to get rule breaking, as the rules are for ordinary mortals and don't apply to them. Upon their departures, it's often left for the 'little people' to clean up. 😐

The reason Moore is being punished for deleting the text messages, is because that is destroying evidence. Example- if you are accused of a hit and run at 2:00 AM, and are seen washing your car at 3AmM, that is destroying evidence. Keep in mind, consequences aren’t only punitive but serve as a deterrence for future similar actions. The NCAA will have consequences so destroying evidence isn’t worth the risk for future wrong doers. 😊Deleting text messages are also in legal terms taking actions that show an awareness of wrong doing.

Here is your problem the ncaa does not own his phone. Nor are they a law enforcement agency. You have no legal grounds to tell someone what they can and can’t do with there phone. Also they recovered what was on the phone and none of it was evidence of cheating. So your evidence of wrongdoing is a ridiculous statement to make

2023 Michigan is one of the greatest college football teams of all time. Defensively they never allowed more than 20 points to any opponent. Most games were blowout wins for them. And no one was messed with more by governing bodies throughout the course of a season while going undefeated. The last 5 games they played were all against ranked opponents. 3 of which were top 5 teams

The problem with the 23 team is the team was built on cheating. 3 years of sign stealing and winning made a winning culture, players wanted to play there. Without Stallions and Harbaugh with the cross the line cheating attitude 23 never happens. If it was Ohio State what would you be saying? That's how you know the 23 team will forever be tarnished as cheaters.

The crime is analogous to paying players while it’s legal to pay players but the NCAA rules state not to pay players using paper bags. Michigan tried to get cute by using lunch boxes to pay players and the NCAA and big ten and the rest of college football wants the crime to be cheating for paying players instead of the nuances of lunch boxes and paper bags.

Caller nick has zero reading comprehension. Sherrone deleted texts as soon as the stalions news was released. The ncaa took his phone and had to forensically image and found the deleted texts. Only at that point did he acknowledge he deleted them. Also, the article directly states he had a meeting setup with Stalions and kostner. Kostner was the one who got Stalions on the sideline at cmu. Basic research and comprehension.

As a Michigan fan, it’s clear some wrongdoing took place and the university needs to be held accountable regardless of the degree of how much it helped the on field play. The biggest thing is I don’t believe the team needed Stalions in order to win the natty in 2023 but regardless, he was there and this happened. I just hope by next season we can leave this tired saga in the past. Own up to whatever wrongdoing we did, take the punishment, and lets get back to football. Go Blue.

@@timeisahumanconstruct9251Don't count on it. Despite the veneer of power, the NCAA may be at its' lowest ebb of institutional control in its' entire history. UM is likely counting on that as this looks most like a battle of attrition - who has more stamina, manhours and financial/legal resources ? This is now a Trump world, afterall.
