NOT ONE THING Conner Stallions did was ILLEGAL. You are allowed to go send people to scout other teams (cant be a staffer) .. The NCAA ALREADY SAID “it was a resource advantage and NOT a competitive advantage “
@taxisquad11
@taxisquad11 9 күн бұрын
Another know nothing nobody....The NCAA said Stallions broke several of their Bylaws. Stallions worked for the Michigan.football program. He paid the people he sent to games. There was a line item in the Football Budget that said "Stallions". Thus, the people sent to games worked for the Michigan football program. What the people did at the games, broke several NCAA Bylaws . Why was this done? To gain an on field advantage. OR why bother?? LB coach Patridge got fired for telling players not to tell anyone what they knew about Stallions. Why was there anything to hide, if Stallions did nothing wrong? Warde Manuel recently said Michigan was guilty. Michigan will NEVER fight any NCAA punishments. If they do, Stallions and Harbaugh would be called to testify under oath.The University DOES NOT want that
@aohguy2001

If you’ve come to the conclusion Stallions did not break any rules, then you don’t know or understand the rule. The rule, 11.6.1: "Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited.” Not sure how or why this is so difficult to comprehend by some. Then add in the part about using electronic devices to record the game, it’s pretty tough to say Michigan’s hands are clean. Furthermore, “resources” acting on behalf of an entity are considered “agents” under the law. Their wrong doing is the wrong doing of the entity they are acting on behalf of. As far as your claim, the NCAA is simply saying this is a resource issue, isn’t quite true. The rule was implemented because there are very few teams outside the Power 5 with the ‘resources’ (financial) to conduct this level of surveillance, and therefore considered an “unfair advantage,” or in simpler terms, cheating. At the end of the day, there’s an open book of Michigan NCAA violations, from recruiting, potential gambling, solicitation of sex with minors, to sign stealing and, that’s just the football program. Then consider the sexual assault cover up with the hockey team, cheating by the baseball team (illegal substances used by pitcher), etc. All points to a serious Lack of Institutional Control. Other programs have received pretty stiff penalties as a result. We will see the outcome later this summer or early fall when the NCAA actually makes their official ruling. The recent settlement Michigan made with the NCAA only addresses the recruiting violation, which opens the door for “repeat offender” status, which based on history, usually will not have a happy ending for the team or University.

@@webmoore4353 ah, here we go with the deflection tactic. Don’t you mean allegedly paid players? A valid source proving this would be helpful. And, how long has Urban been out of coaching? Failed to cooperate with the NCAA investigation and has a plethora of other issues throughout the athletic department. Just own it.

This doesn't even make sense. The NCAA has no bearing on who coaches a team, regardless of whether someone at the NCAA likes or dislikes Harbaugh. The NCAA has no reason to intervene with a program unless there's a potential cause. Apparently, there is enough smoke for the NCAA to determine a bigger fire is burning somewhere when they uncovered more wrong-doings from the recruitment violations investigation. Then, adding insult to injury, Harbaugh and the University decided not to cooperate. If innocent of any wrongdoing, why would anyone do that? The NCAA did not 'drum this up,' to get him out, Harbaugh was looking for a way out almost as soon as he got there.

Wow, are you stupid. Advanced scouting was allowed until the 1990s. The only reason it was disallowed was because some programs couldn't afford to do it, not because it gave an unfair competitive advantage. Then, in 2014, (year maybe wrong), NCAA changed their rule to allow 3rd party advanced scouting. It hasn't even been established Michigan made the minor rules violation. Bottom line. You don't know what you think you know. Michigan never cheated, learn to cope... 15-0 National Champions with the greatest team in NCAA history. Facts.

@aohguy2001
@aohguy2001 7 күн бұрын
@@None-dj8iy That's not exactly the case. The NCAA implemented the rule because most programs, including many in the Power 5 DO NOT have the resources. You can't spend resources you don't have unless you're the federal government. There is a small percentage of schools with annual budgets over $150-200 million dollars and, most schools only have budgets in the $50 million range. As a result, it provides an unfair advantage to schools with ample budgets compared to those who don't. Context matters. Also, advanced scouting had a very different meaning. I was part of a major program and, we would receive a 16 mm game film of our next opponent every Monday. That was advanced scouting. These films are akin to today's "ALL 22" videos. Another difference is, that plays were shuttled into a huddle versus using signals today. Analytics of signals is not new but in general, it's a real-time, in-game activity and not a systemic advanced scheme. You can downplay it all you want, but the NCAA bylaws are there for a reason. You can point your finger and deflect to other programs claiming everyone does it, maybe, maybe not. At the end of the day, it was Michigan that got caught. That's the reality of it all. Every car on the freeway may be traveling 20 mph over the limit and if only one person gets caught, they still get a fine.

This has been openly discussed and documented, (i.e., the University saying, the "NCAA is a private entity that has no ability to compel testimony or the disclosure of evidence."). Or requiring Stallions to sign an NDA that prohibits him from discussing what he knows. Sounds really cooperative. Since you're implying there has been cooperation, there must be proof they did. I'd be happy to review any source that indicates otherwise. The University was in complete denial until the BIG presented evidence from the NCAA investigation, Interestingly enough, the University suddenly dropped the case with prejudice. Connor Stallions released a statement adressing the sign stealing investigation after he resigned so idk what your talking about regarding an NDA. 3. There is zero evidence that “The University was in complete denial.” This is total speculation on your part. 4. The NCAA being a private entity is a legal statement of fact, not indication that the University was unwilling to cooperate. 5. You’re the one accusing Harbaugh and Michigan of not cooperating so the burden of proof is on you or anyone else making those claims. 6. Lastly, Tony Pettiti met in person with the University President, Santa Ono. Why on earth would someone who refuses to cooperate, schedule a special meeting during their busiest time of the year with the entity accusing and attempting to punish them? I’m going to ask one more time. Where is your evidence that Michigan and Jim Harbaugh were in complete denial and did not cooperate with the NCAA (and taking legal action against people is a right that we all have, it’s called exercising one’s rights as a citizen.
