I’d say it’s a step in the right direction, but still have a long way to go. A mark of excellence (in the terms of WOT) is something you’ve EARNED to be able to show off, not particularly paid for to show. So if they implement an MOE system, the player should not have to pay any type of currency to actually obtain it.

I would say elite xp is well suited for that, but only if WG doesn't overdo it and make it cost several million....

Yeah a number proving nothing on my ship is more expensive than my Colbert Managed to meet a Yamato with more than 300 kills firing HE while going flat broadside in his short lived game

I would happily spend small amounts of gold to make small permanent aesthetic changes to my ships. I struggle to spend thousands of gold on single things because I know it's a huge amount of actual money on pixels.

Heh, this kinds of puts into perspective the things I spend on in a gacha. I regularly spend what is a pretty hefty amount of money on my favorite gachas for what is essentially nothing but pixels. But at the same time, I'm not going out and blowing money at casinos and ending up with no money to even keep a roof over my head.

0:36 having a lot of kills doesn't mean that they are a good player, they could have 500 kills but they could also have 1000 games played, id love to be able to check stat cards ingame (War Thunder) so that I can see if they are actually reliable.

Agreed. I was the other Yammy at 127 kills. I've unlocked that ship 2 weeks ago. And PG doesn't show the end but I finished first

My problem is the fact that the Frag counter counts for all game modes including Ai so it honestly doesn’t mean much when people can go farm Ai for kills for the new Camo it devalues it🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Yeahhh this is tricky, I get what you’re saying but realistically I don’t think many standard battle players would willingly grind AI battles for the sake of a frag counter You wouldn’t believe how many people exclusively play AI battles as well, excluding a chunk of the playerbase is a tad unfair imo

Eh... I don't really care for it, because A. I don't have any steel, and B. It's only available for a select few ships (Yammy, Worcester and Shima.) But I do like the direction Wargaming is going with this.

Shouldn't it be free with ship as soon as you unlock? I mean why do we have to monetize this when clearly someone's running a premium ship, with a special commander, and a special camo too. Monetization has really ruined modern gaming. 🤦‍♂️

I’m almost to 1000kills on my yamato and I just started playing a year ago lol. I love this addition but yeah should be global xp instead. At least 100K if they wanted it to be exclusive

Ain't no WAY I'm spending 5k steel on a counter camo. A, we either need fast acquisition of steel if they wanna keep it that way or it needs to be sold via different currency, and B, I don't want that functionality to be on a CAMO. Give me the option of using an in game currency to put a kill counter on ANY SHIP ontop of ANY CAMO. Same issue I have with the whole guise/tracer thing. I want to be able to choose any color tracer I have unlocked to ANY SHIP without forcing me to use a Guise. They should be separate. If I want the voiceover for the commander I use the Guise, but if I've bought the tracer color I should be able to put it on my ships without having to pick and choose based on which commanders I've put Guises on. That's just stupid. Heck, I'm still waiting on commander load outs per ship so I don't have to swap inspirations or perks every single time I wanna swap over to a ship that has a different playstyle but uses the same commander. We've been asking for that along with training rooms for YEARS now! Bottom line, WG. If you give us good customization options instead of convoluted roundabout ways of getting what we really want you will probably see an uptick in revenue more so than nickel and diming the whales that carry the game 😅

Yes i agree it is a great idea.... but i think it should be your win rate with the ship... no kills.... kills does not mean much... if you have 30000 games you will have more kills for sure then if someone has 10000 games, or AI games... well hopefully haha.... and 5000 steel... its a joke... this should be added on every camo for free or at least for global xp.... but as you said we are moving in a right direction...

Im a borderline dead brain in that game, i trow a part when i hit a citadel, if i do a dev strike, the night ill take my car and get on hit some "street woman", some "white powder", and down at 200 kph at the beach to trow a full rave. To make u guys understand how likely i am to do a good play... 😂😂

I was never fussy on the whole marks of excellence thing for Warships, historically speaking (They're a better fit for tanks, for just that reason). They're certainly a nice touch! Just not for me. I'm the sorta guy who wants more historical camos for ships, personally lmao

5000 Steel is way to much for a camo. It should be available after you finish a ship in Tech tree and for premiums after a decent amount battels played. I think that's way more better then this steel method😅

I'd prefer wins over kills. Getting 1,000 kills is doable even for a potato if they play enough games. For all we know he/she lost the majority of their games with nothing but kill steals to their name, which is how they got their 1,000+ kills.
