Great video as always, feel very similar about M&S. You are absolutely right about their handbag prices! Their general pricing also confuses me - i can turn a label over and have no idea if it’s going to be £19.50 or £39.50, quality etc seems to be irrelevant to how they decide.

Bon marche would be good.They are traditionally for older ladies but I have seen a few women in their 20's and 30's do hauls and get some really nice bits that aren't granny-esque

Going to NYC, I would pack light and shop there. You have some great Plus size shopping there. Eloquii, Anthropologie, Maree Pour Toi and Gudrun Sjoden to name just a few. Make sure to pack your long johns! Oh, also check out Eatalia while you are there. I was in London last year and took a side trip down to Chatham, Kent, my birthplace. There was an M&S outlet there and I stocked up on underpants. My favourite part of Marks and Sparks is definitely the food section. We had one in Vancouver when I lived there but we don’t have them here in Texas.

I remember M&S in Vancouver very well - I used to work on cruise ships in the early 1990s and did a couple of summer seasons in Alaska, cruising out of Vancouver every week. M&S was my little bit of home. Love Vancouver, one of my favourite cities.

Caroline (Mrs M) wow, in a strange twist of events, I used to work at the cruise ship terminal in the hotel entrance! Funnily enough, for an English company. I went on to work on one of the cruise ships for 8 months around Australia, NZ and SE Asia. Life is funny.

I think we have similar styles, albeit I am 10 years your senior, I have found a lot of stores think more mature ladies like to dress very Molly!! I am not ready yet for knitted cardy and tweed skirt! x

M&S has very odd ideas about trendy fashion, they seem more comfortable with office /working clothes. Agree with you about the underwear- very pricey. '

This is a great video, there aren’t enough from M&S on here. I’m 50 this year and while I love M&S their styling swings between frumpy and a bit too ‘try hard’. I’m always confused by it.

It seems like versions of THE Zara dress but in autumnal floral prints are the thing this season. I suppose because I am older and these fashions are quite seventies in style I just find them old fashioned looking and drab.

I love M& S and I try to keep up with Trends but sometimes I look and just cannot imagine the items on a "normal body" of a woman over 40 . I sometimes wish there were "Look" books to give us an idea of how to wear.

How interesting! I normally would agree with you but I've just got some lovely things from M&S that I'm really pleased with- some flat leather boots-patterned top with drape that covers my apple body and some gorgeous cashmere.-all at what I consider to be be competitive prices and the quality is great.I'm 63 and plus size and I find their long button through dresses great to wear as a kind of duster coat. I guess we're all different and that's great (and interesting!)

Hi Linda, I like the idea of wearing the dresses as a duster coat, I'll give that some further thought. I must agree that their cashmere is well priced and good quality, though I didn't see any while I was filming this video, maybe I was a little early in the season for it.

Like you my go-to for underwear was always M&S, but the quality has deteriorated massively. My personal bugbear is that online they have extended sizes, I think nearly the whole range goes up to a size 24, and they also have a dedicated 'plus-size ' range. It annoys the cr*p out of me that I store they carry up to a size 18-20 max. It makes me feel like they don't want 'plus size' people shopping in the store but they are happy to have our money 😠. Great video as per usual :)

I love the tan stitched boots , and the fur lined ones , and I really like the tortoise shell boots , they would look great with jeans . And the night wear is always great . Those dresses are really in for the moment, Zara has lots of them too. I tried one on , it was ok , I thought it would look good with boots and a chunky jersey, or denim jacket, I have to agree some of the prints I’ve seen are very 70s . I really enjoyed the vlog 😊 xx

I went to M&S today, what I found in the one I went to, they only had a few of each size, they seem to be pushing for you to order online, so you either come back and collect item or have it delivered, I was given an M&S voucher, I was given it for dog sitting in June, nothing takes my fancy, I still have not used it, so will wait until the January sales, I really think their clothing are just not doing it for me, those dresses remind me of the 70’s, you wore them with knee length boots or wedges ( showing my age now), I am the same with their bras, I get mine from Matalan. Sadly I agree, M&S has lost its way. It is my go to shop but I was in there yesterday and I struggled to find anything to love. I bought a whole new collection of undies a few months ago and the quality is not good. Caroline, Where do you shop for bras.

Honestly I struggle a bit, agree with you that the quality in M&S has gone down, and the sizing is all over the place as well. I've got some bras I was quite happy with from Matalan recently, and Debenhams came up trumps last time I was searching, although again I thought they were pretty expensive.

Sod’s law is if I buy from M and S there is a 20% off day soon afterwards. So I now take a photo of everything I like then order with my 20% off. I love M and S shoes but they are quite expensive when you like so many of them

Did they open up just for you? There was no one there! I do worry for the future of M&S as a clothes shop, although over the years they have had off times and then seem to get back on track. The long tiered dresses are maybe following on from that Zara dress shape that everyone was wearing in the summer.

I got there at 8.10 in the morning so it was super quiet. Easier to film when it's quiet :) You could be right about the Zara dress having informed some of their choices, very similar in style.

Hi Angie, I did Matalan back in the summer, but must be time for a look around again, will add it to the list. I'm generally not a fan of Next, but it's close to Matalan so might do a quick whizz round in there at the same time x

Have to say I'm quite opposite on the dresses. I think a lot would look great with thick tights and nice chunky ankle boots and maybe a nice leather belt. Great to have a look about from the comfort of my sofa though!

Thanks for that fab m n s vlog caroline. very useful for ppl like me who have difficulty going out shopping. agree with what you said there, they never have large bra sizes, fashion has lost its way somewhat and a bit too pricey. it almost feels like no one is asking what we, the consumer, want. i have been shopping in marks since a teenager and it has always been my go to for underwear, but im afraid not very often nowadays. btw, i did chuckle when you said now we come to the mens dept which we dont really want to look round do we lol. cheers. j xx

Caroline (Mrs M) I’m in Plymouth and you walk through the multi-storey right onto the 2nd floor of M&S to get to the Mall, which of course has all the best shops so poor ole M&S has just become a walk through...it was great in its hey day, but with online shopping on all major brands, think they have shot themselves in the foot...prefer charity shops anyway😂

Those dresses will look fab on very thin and young vintage/retro-loving girls. The willowy, anorexic type of runway model. For the rest of us - no way! Not a great season at M&S. The bags are so boring too. Shame, isn’t it.
