Awesome Mark! I ordered a group of orange rilis from shrimp farm as well. Had them around a month seem to be pretty clean and doing well.

Yeah, i got a few of my lines from them years and years ago back when I didn't know lol. I've always been able to get imported lines going, but they take a lot longer it seems, and a couple have needed treatment, and another (not from shrimp farm) was so bad when they bred out I said screw it after a while. Definitely better impoters than others. I've been happy with what I've got from the shrimp farm, but still have the import issues and stress from the risk of them bringing in something bad. Tank had been isolated, and anything that touched it got bleached up until this week.

@@MarkShellyAquatics Yeah I agree. They definitely do take a bit longer to get going

Mark, Haven't commented lately been watching the videos and all are awesome really interested in you 2024 pond set ups I am going to venture down that road with shrimp and livebearers and white cloud mnt minowes. Always enjoy your videos. Do you have a series of setups for your outdoor ponds and the diy filter systems?

Thanks 👍😁👋 I need to set up some playlists for those things, been wanting to do it for a while, just haven't got around to it yet. Friday's video will be about my new outside setups.

Sadly i've learned that most import shrimp rarely make past 3 months. Have had decent success with one west coast importer however. Glad you got em booming bud orange rili are my 3rd favorite neo's behind green jade Emeralds and green rili's

I've had a handful of imports, and all the good ones were from the shrimp farm. Had all imported lines make it with some work and treatments, but I have had 1 that sucked so bad when they bred out that I gave up on them after about a year. Always a risk, and stresses me out, but glad they're going and healthy. Probably take a generation or 2 for them to really get going.

I really wonder why you don’t have many seed shrimps since you’re feeding lots of powdered foods - any explanation from your side ?
@MarkShellyAquatics10 ай бұрын
Lol, lots of people asking about seed shrimp lately here and other places too lol. Nothing to worry about. I have some in most tanks and some tanks will boom with them every once in a while, but as fast as there are tons for a few weeks, they always seemingly overnight go back to normal. I haven't seen or at least figured out why yet. Think my hard water is very conducive to snails, and sails are probably out competing, my guess anyways.

I have a lot of seed shrimp popping up in my tank. Is this a problem in your experience?
@MarkShellyAquatics10 ай бұрын
Nope, nothing to worry about. Maybe just feed a bit less. They come and go in my tanks. Out of the blue I'll have a plague of them, and just as fast as they appear, they dissappear, usually always have a few here and there, they're just boom and bust, I see no correlation to anything I can think of. But no nothing to worry or sweat about. Their presence usually indicates your tank is healthy though.
