The OnePlus 12's ambient display only works in extremely bright light. When in low-light or dark areas, it stays on for just a second and the screen goes dark. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to resolve it? Yes, I set it to stay on all day. It is only exposed to direct sunlight outside. If I'm indoors, I have to stay about two centimeters away from a very bright light for it to stay on. Any solution?

I've had my OnePlus 12 16/512 for only a week, coming from 5 years on a OnePlus 7 Pro. So far I love everything about it. I even like the curved display, although I have noticed the dust problem you mentioned. The screen is incredibly bright in direct sunlight, easy to see. This was one of my complaints with the 7 Pro. I used to loose my cell connection in the basement with my 7 Pro. So far, this hasn't happened with the 12. The charging time is amazing, even wireless as you said. I feel very good about my purchase!

I used this now for 2 months maybe and I got no issues at all. Here in Europe or will cost you little bit more but damn this phone is good. The smoothness overall is just crazy and the screen is just wonderful while the Battery is the bomb 💪🏼 Camera is also good, better than many thinks, love it. I have a one plus 12 and the watch 2 and I can honestly say that I love them both. You're exactly right about how the other companies are ripping us off. I should add that I've been an iPhone user since the original, and before this phone I had the S24 Ultra. I would rather not have a curved screen..but IMO this beats or is equal to it (I never used the s-pen)

I've been using my 12 since the middle of February and it's amazing. It's smooth as silk and there's nothing to complain about. Especially, at the price point. Actually, the curved glass is one of my favorite design features. Frankly, flat screens lack ergonomics and don't look anywhere near as premium. If you don't mind a suggestion, you should ditch that $6 case and check out the new aramid fiber bumper case that OnePlus just released. It fits perfectly and compliments the design of the phone quite well. Moreover, it offers adequate protection. I also picked up the classic sandstone bumper case. It's also very nice. No offense, that $6 case bastardizes what is a very attractive device. Lol

I'd say if you're on a budget I'd save your money for the next OP phone because the improvements not be a huge reason to upgrade (battery is bigger, screen is brighter, has wireless charging). I'm happy with it but can recommend to most to save for the OP13 maybe.

Picked up the OnePlus 12 a month ago and now is not working.. i was watching KZbin video when screen turns black and stop work. i tried reboot, shot down and factory restore options but still not working. My mom and wife have the OnePlus Nord and they had a similar issue 2 weeks ago, but their phones worked after charging and mine didn't. I am very upset with OnePlus. :(

I've had the OnePlus 12 for a week now, so far I really like it, can't say I love it just yet. I swapped my sim with my S23 Ultra. I still use my iPhone 14 Pro as my secondary phone but the OP 12 is nice. My two biggest gripes so far is the lack of configuration to move your pages around, so instead you have to move the app icons and number 2, my OnePlus watch 2 is not syncing with the health app so I can't track my sleep. I do still like the curved display. Nice follow up review.

In my humble opinion, not much at all. Only on Verizon network it could make a difference in the city, airports, etc. But, I have T-mobile and it has all the bandwidths with excellent consistent speed.

The phone is fantastic just that the cameras could have been a little better and I certainly agree with the dust accumulation on the display with the case. In a nutshell, awesome phone with brilliant screen, haptics, battery and decent speakers. IP 68 Rating would have been appreciated as well.

30 C at night is a reality for months on end here in India. Temps are soaring over 40 and even 45 frequently in summer. So, it's good to see that OnePlus is focusing on cooling solutions that have a noticeable impact. Honestly, I used an iPhone the last two years. Recently got broke and then earned again. Can't really afford even the OnePlus 12 right now, mostly looking at the Nord 4 which will launch soon. But, getting back into the budget category and catching up with Android smartphone scene again after years (I used to be a real nerd about Android smartphones during high school and college) has been refreshing. So many choices, great value for money. No need to ever buy an iPhone again IMO.

OOh darn... so I can not throw it in my toilet for fun. I did find one lost phone I had once...it had slipped out of my shirt pocket and landed upside down in my big coffee mug that had a little coffee still in it. The phone was working fine but I stupidly picked it up and turned it topside up. It was not IP68 and fried. I realized right off that if I left the phone upside down right from the coffee mug that the coffee would have just run off and the phone would dry and be good to go. I would definitely prefer IP68 but the phone is just too good.

The 12r is a bit cheaper but still like £800 over 2 years. Due to this I may just get the Samsung even though I really want the charging speed, the IR and the aquatouch

4500Nits only in HDR content, the autobrightness is less than S23U BUT the colours stay the same. Samsung pushes the white emitting higher so it gets beighter. Also it has some over 3k pwm dimming instead of the 480Hz on S24U.

The OP12 is just so damn sexy to hold in the hand compared to anything with a flat screen. Devices like the S24 Ultra just feel like undefined slabs of metal, the curves in the OP12 just make it feel so luxurious in every way. I cant wait for the quad-curved screen due to come on the OP13. I've used curved displays for a few years, last time I experienced a mistouch was a couple of years ago, software deals with that as an issue these days so why the hell would anybody want a flat screen. Do they work better... NO Do they looks better... NO Do the devices feel better to hold in the hand,,, NO Sorry, but I'm yet to find any advantage of a fiat screen, IN ANY WAY AT ALL. You want to be critical of dust between the screen and a case, hell Ive never noticed that as an issue ever, but then if its a problem for you maybe wipe your phone clean once in a while. Either way with all respect, other than the lack of IP68 protection this is easily one of the best devices on the market. The only advantage of the S24 Ultra is a camera improvement in SOME situations and added AI features which your going to have to pay for within a year anyway. Yet another expense you're going to be paying for monthlly. And Im saving 400 bucks for the privilege.

Even up here in the cool state of Maine it can get to those temps in a very rare heat wave. Usually you folks get that weather and I stay nice and cool! Summers are great here but are short and winters last forever.

Compared to s23 ultra i liked the speakers more on that phone, that's the only thing I'm sad about 😀. I wish it had better speakers on OnePlus 12

I really want to get this phone. The only thing holding me back ist the fact that I have an Apple Watch and it obviously doesn’t pair with non IOS devices. There are workarounds but it just won’t have that synergy.

@@koreyg7674 then it will be more difficult for you to do so I guess. Over the years, I purposely made choices to have a Windows laptop, a LG tv, etc., and I don't wear a smartwatch but a regular one. So for me, it was straight forward and honestly I find Android has changed a lot and is much, much more versatile (productivity wise). But if you are too far into the Apple ecosystem, it would probably be more challenging. I won't hold off switching though, worth it still in my view. ☺️

Agreed flat screen please!!!! I've watched OnePlus in the background for years now and finally got to try since I've been a long time Sprint (yay Sprint for getting acquired by T-Mobile) Anyways, coming from a pixel 7. OnePlus 12 FOR ME, is a awesome. I will say if you want tons of features like Sammy or ai then you may be disappointed but in my age the OnePlus 12 has enough features and a great camera for my enjoyment. The camera is beautiful and I don't feel like I miss pictures from a pixel. The OnePlus 12 is also just more reliable overall when compared to pixel 7-8pro

Did consider getting the 1+ as my 2nd device, but I ended up buying the Xiaomi 14 instead. I do live in Norway where we do have more choices😉. Why did I choose the Xiaomi you might ask? Well...the main reason was because of the Xiaomi's Flat display👍

Oneplus phones are great! I'm also thinking of getting OnePlus 12 but i'm just worried about all the display issues OnePlus devices had in the past...(Right now i'm using Poco F3)
