You mentioned that you have a 10% off code to use on Tado's website, but I don't see that in the description or comments. Has it already expired?

@ unfortunately it seems it’s not valid on the X range (didn’t realise until after recording) however, I did get emailed this code by their mailing list which saved me some money, see if it works for you CRM-7F7332UOe (not an affiliate code or anything but will hopefully save you some money)

@@MarksTechVlogs Thanks, though says "This discount has reached its usage limit", perhaps I'll wait until Black Friday and see if they have a deal on 🤞

Just received my tado x to replace my original tado, planning on doing that tomorrow so your video is of great help. Thanks

Awesome, it's pretty simple so you should have no issues but feel free to drop a comment if you do 🙂

Hi Mark - I have a old house on a single zone - there is no one logical place to put the wireless thermostat due to different bits of the house getting colder depending on the wind direction. Do you know if its possible to have two wireless 'sensors' so that when either drops below the set temperature then the heating would be called (for the whole house). I don't want to install smart TVR as this will become very complex - just looking for a solution with two wireless sensors
@MarksTechVlogs4 күн бұрын
Yes, I believe that would work, so you’d probably need one of the wireless kits and then a second sensor (which they do sell)

Thanks for the video! With the Tado V3 system, do the TRVs connect directly to the Internet Bridge, or do they connect via the router? In my house, I had to use an internet extender for one section because the main router signal wouldn’t reach. This means I have two different Wi-Fi networks, but this setup works fine with Ring products since they can connect to different networks and still work together. Can Tado work the same way with V3, or do all the TRVs have to connect directly to the Internet Bridge? If not, it seems like going with the Tado X instead of V3 might be the better choice for me.
@MarksTechVlogs9 күн бұрын
They connect to the internet bridge which means you might need a second bridge (not sure if you can get them separately for the V3 system)
@imantha8 күн бұрын
@@MarksTechVlogs Thanks for your reply, I think Tado only allows one internet bridge from what I read, I'll go with X since I might run in to signal issues in my home, have you had any connectivity issues since you started using the new system?

Great video, Thanks for sharing. Could someone give advice on the following setup? I have UFH and radiators. There is an UFH circle water pump and radiator circle water pump, also hot water tank (that heats up without the boiler using electricity so not mandatory to control via tado) All rooms have underfloor heating logically separated (9 circles), and there are 3 radiators in 3 different rooms. * Planning to buy radiator thermostats for each UFH logical zone (9) * Wireless thermostats for room which do not have radiators (6) * Radiator thermostats for the radiators (3) * Wireless receiver Questions: * Can I use the radiator thermostats to control the manifold UFH zones? * Can I control the boiler and the two main circle water pumps with the wireless receiver?
@MarksTechVlogs13 күн бұрын
Hi, I’m afraid I don’t really understand underfloor heating (I’m not a heating expert) but Tado do have some guidelines on under floor heating here which might help support.tado.com/en/articles/3482224-how-does-tado-control-underfloor-heating-systems Hopefully that might help but it sounds like with your setup you might be best consulting a heating engineer who could advise what’s possible

Enjoyed your video, do you have a discount code that will work for the UK?
@MarksTechVlogs8 күн бұрын
Sadly not, Tado seem to have stopped all codes from working with the X and aren't even running Black Friday deals on the X Products on amazon at the moment. I reckon they're trying to shift V3+ stock first!

i use opentherm and already have the v3 wireless. Does it matter + / - which connection i connect to the wireless receiver coming from the boiler?

I'm afraid I'm not sure, best to consult a heating engineer

Hey mark what’s the advantage of upgrading? I bought mine when geofencing was free so wondering if I upgrade I would have to now pay :)
@MarksTechVlogs9 күн бұрын
I'm not sure if you'd lose that or not but I'm guessing you would (maybe one for Tado support). Essentially, the main advantage for upgrading is the Matter over Thread support which enables offline use and that the radiator valves are now pretty much silent. Everything else behaves largely the same. I will be making a full comparison video but probably not until the new year now
@djjluvv9 күн бұрын
@@MarksTechVlogsahhh ok I have 7 rooms all with rad valves and thermostats so that’s a lot to Pay out just for those small upgrades. They do look really nice though. Thank you for the video
@Gixer750K2Күн бұрын
Tado were doing an Upgrade path if you had "AutoAssist" Geofencing, and that would be moved across to your new account. There was a caveat though, where I think you had to buy the equipment direct from Tado.

Great video, but this does not help which cable goes to what ? + Tado used Openthem. How to effectively use that one ?
@MarksTechVlogs12 күн бұрын
Because everyone's boiler wiring is different this isn't really designed to be a how to wire it in video. If you add the wireless box (the large white one) into the Tado app you can put in your exact setup and the app will talk you through a step-by-step process including which wire goes where. Depending on your existing setup and boiler, if you don't have the open therm wiring in place at the moment you might need to get a heating engineer out to help as in the UK opening up the actual boiler casing requires a gas-safe registered engineer. Just changing the wiring outside of the boiler is fine.

Great video Mark, Just a heads up, at minute 7:52 you have an unrendered video section which runs to about 8:31. Not sure if you are aware. Also I have a Hive wireless thermostat and combi boiler setup, do you know if the Tado X system will work for me? Will I have to get the Tado thermostat?
@MarksTechVlogs18 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for pointing that out...I've just fixed that! If you use the Tado X with Hive then the radiator valves will need a hub and will be able to control the temperature of your rooms/flow to your radiators but only when the Hive heating is on, they won't be able to control your Hive. Have you looked at the Hive smart valves? I believe these can turn on your Hive but I've not used this.

I have 8 rooms where in each room there is a Tado X smart thermostat and a Tado X wireless temperature sensor. It is therefore the temperature sensor that sets the temperature in the rooms. Can I use the wireless smart thermostat for this setup so that the boiler turns on every time a room needs to be heated? Or is it intended that there should be a central temperature sensor that switches the boiler on and off, and adjusts the thermostats in the rooms up and down in temperature
@MarksTechVlogs17 күн бұрын
That's quite a setup! For your setup I guess the schedule of each radiator thermostat needs to match the temperature sensor in the room. You could probably also use the offset feature for the radiator thermostats so you know it matches the wireless termpature sensor. My setup is simpler...I have 3 of the radiator valves in rooms I want to be able to specifically control and one main wireless thermostat. This means whilst the main wireless thermostat does heat every other room when it's on I have more control over 3 rooms which works for the layout of my house

Unfortunately Tado is not unusable for me anymore, V3+ or X, since they don't support EMS2 for newer Worcester Bosch boilers. They will only work in Relay mode, which doesn't give all the proper benefits to modulating boilers, and regulated in the UK under BoilerPlus. I have a newly installed WB 8000+ boiler, and Tado will not support it properly, even after 2 years.
