After seeing this video of Markus Ruel, I realize that in Bodybuilding, age is irrelevant. It's the mind that must truly stay young. The body will follow the mind. So anyone out there in their 40's or 50's and still training, keep it up and GOD BLESS YOU.😇 I'm 69 and will be 70 years young next month.( October ) and I am still very passionate about bodybuilding. Ones true passion is the real "SPARK OF LIFE!".😀🤙

In relation to professional competitors, regardless of their mind power, many cannot maintain size in their latter years due to naturally depleting testosterone levels and the men who can are past their conditioned prime, so will never win the major competitions that they always dreamt of as their one goal in life. You’re lucky that you have acquired no injuries over time that make resistance training extremely difficult in latter years. I’m 53, train with weights, boxing, BJJ and bladed weaponry, but have a shoulder impingement from heavy lifting in my younger days which has turned into bursitis. Sometimes it’s agonising and injections for it relieved none of the pain, forcing me to use lighter weights these days. Edit : Keep it up as long as you can.

💯✌️ I'm 63 former Marine, and I told myself I would never let my body go and develop a pot belly and look terrible. I continue to work out and I'm muscular. People look at me at the gym all the time, and I think they think I'm using something. But, I found out what works for me. And that is working out on a empty stomach. With just a cup of coffee in the morning. Cardio 2miles and whole body workout for 2 hours. Consume 30 grams of protein after workout. Snack on protein items during lunch time. Then eat protein enriched dinner to maintain calories. And get quality sleep to recuperate. This is the very best program I have came across, that allows he to get good gains in muscle, and I'm in my 60's.

Bodybuilding is the only sport I know where a lot of the fans still expect the athletes to be able to play (or in our case LOOK) the way they did in their competitive prime. No one expects a soccer player who is now 50 and retired at 30 to still be able to play in the World Cup, or a former UFC champ who is 50 and was the champion at age 24 to be able to get his title back! But a lot of fans think Pro bb's should be able to look the same forever. Just not possible, even with plenty of PED's. You just can't hold that much freaky mass forever. That being said, RUHL is still a very, very big man!
