This was a project to see if I could make a model boat which responds to voice commands! The commands are spoken into a mobile phone running an app called Bluetooth Voice. the app sends a single letter code via blue tooth to the boat. On the boat, an HC-05 board (just £3 on the internet) receives the code as a serial message which is passed to a Picaxe microprocessor. The Picaxe controls the motor controller and the servos.
I was pleased it works at all, but there is an inevitable delay which makes it completely impractical except for the slowest of boats.
If you are heading for rocks and say "stop" in a stressful panicky voice, the software chooses that moment to not comprehend you!
