I have the same pop up here Australia I made a couple of modifications to mine which made it easier to set up. (1) all walls are up make sure you zip the door together before staking out that way you do not have to readjust the stacks later. (2) The reason the centre is harder to push up is because it’s smaller that the larger tents which have more flex thus their easier to push up, but on the plus side the roof on the 10ft is more rigid and stable. (3) I had a small cloth strap from another item I had and passed it through the centre poles on the roof so my wife can now reach the roof and pull it down easily and we also hang our rechargeable ceiling/ fan/Light from there as I didn’t want to put to much pressure on the little hanging tab that comes with the tent. (4) I use an old extender pole with a rubber end on it so my wife can easily push the roof up with. (5) We found if you want more ventilation with the walls up just roll them down from the top so you don’t need to adjust to centre hole guide rope. (6) I have a ground sheet from our caravan that lets water and sand through which we lay the tent on top of that way we keep spiders and crawling insects out, you can imagine some of the insects we get here in Australia 😊. Your video was really good I was going to make one but yours covers literally everything well done. We love our Vevor tent and will go for a bigger one next time as the grand children come in as well at night when the blood sucking mosquitos turn up and it would give a bit more room, but other that that I would “Highly” recommend this tent as it is sturdy and builds literally in minutes, again great video.

Bought this last year. Brilliant piece of kit. Setup in a specific order which you'll learn with practice. Super easy. I was apprehensive about its capability with regard to rain; survived in excellent condition two-day Arkansas storm! Bag is just overly large enough making for not too much of a struggle to pack up. Recommendation though would be to get much better and longer stakes.

Highly detailed and thorough. I really love all the info you provide. I've never used one of those tents, but maybe it would set up easier with a cane or other means to push it up. You're right, most tents aren't designed for seniors.

I had a ground blind for hunting that was similar to this screen house. It was a pop up too. The ceiling on my blind was not nearly as tall so it was easier to get in it and push the roof out. I had many a good wrestling match in the woods with it. It was super functional and pretty tough. Just always a bit of a struggle to set up or tear down. Thanks for sharing Mark and good luck with the Vevor. Looks to be a pretty good unit.

I have the 12x12 version. I lift mine up in the center to let the walls even out first then I stake it down then lift the roof. I bought larger stakes also. I also bought a medium duty tarp to use as a floor because we sleep inside on the ground. I like the larger size so I can set it up over my picnic table. It worked well in light rain,no leaks. It seems pretty durable but I dont think it will last 20 years like my canvas tent.

Thank you for this video. I am looking for a temporary screen for my back door, which is at least 9' off the ground to the top of the door. Been so far all over the internet looking at screens like that, but they are NEVER tall enough to get to the top of my door... I will look into it better at another day, save it to my home screen, to get to it immediately.

Very good video explaining every step. It is so much easier to watch a video like this and then have an easy time putting up the tent. I am considering buying this 10x10 tent and setting it up on our paver patio. I was thinking of buying weight bags and filling with sand and attaching the Guy Rope or, if it will work, attach the gommet tags to it with metal clips. There's no other way to anchor it. What do you think? I also plan to spray the top and Wind Cloth with clear polyurethane or some waterproof spray.

I would think sand bags would work. I have to wait until I use it in the rain to see if it needs a coating. Thanks for commenting

I bought the 10x10 ft gazebo. It was a bear to set up especially the roof. Next time I'll try staking the sides down like you did. Also, it is too hot in Georgia to use this for summer camping. I'll probably have to use it in winter and buy a inexpensive light duty screen room for summer use.
@MarkYoungBushcraft

I can see this tent getting hot compared to others. Our weather does not get that hot so I don't think it will be an issue. We can get some heavy rain while camping so the sidewalls should be good to have. Thanks for commenting

Hello Mark. Thanks for the video. I’m planning a 2-3 weeks trip to Moncton next summer with the family. What provincial campgrounds would you recommend? Kids love the beach that’s for sure and it would be their first time in a real salty beach. Thanks in advance!

Hi Michael. Being from Nova Scotia I have limited knowledge of the parks in New Brunswick. Having said that, I can recommend two places with ocean beeches. My first choice continues to be Kouchibouquac National Park about an hour north of Moncton. My second choice is Parlee Beech Provincial Park just outside of Moncton. I have not been to Parlee in a few years so I cannot tell you much about it now. Hope this helps

This tent is almost exactly like common ice fishing shelters except ice fishing shelters of course do not have the screen material. Just a thought, might it be a bit easier to pop the roof out if you were to perhaps pop out two of the walls that are next to each other and maybe opposite of the doorway. Next pop "out" the roof from the outside while the roof is still accessible from the outside and before popping out the last three side walls? Follow this by popping out the remaining side walls. I have done this on occasion with my four wall ice fishing shelters though have never tried it with a five wall unit (don't have any). Haven't really noticed it being any easier to do it this way with my body's strength and flexibility levels but perhaps you and your tent may be different. Don't know if that would be helpful but it may be worth a try to find out. Edited: After going to the website I see that the shelter is six sided instead of five sided as I had supposed. So perhaps you may want to pop out three walls before attempting popping the roof. As I said earlier, this is a suggestion to try rather than a recommendation.

Hi Lonnie. Strangely, the roof hub has a loop of webbing on the outside which wold lead me to think it could be pulled up. I could not find a way to reach the loop short of laying the who assembly on its side and then I could not stabilize the sidewalls enough to pull the roof out. Having said that, I will try anything that might make the job easier. Thanks for commenting

G'day Mark, I'd strongly suggest, (no mandatory), to try ALL kit in the backyard first. For shelters, I put the hose on 'em ........ on full whack straight up to simulate vertical falling rain and at various other angles too, ....... rain aint always vertical ; ) I've run a coupla different brands over the years, (family camping), now I just use the awning wall kit for my Blackwolf Turbo 300 tent. However, the first thing I do with "gazebos" is replace the supplied guylines with rope, (springs debatable) and as you have, upgrade the pegs, (I repurposed those off an old swing set, must be 3/8 in. diameter and a foot long). Fair to say they are more susceptible to wind than your average tent and with no floor, the weight of the contents is no help either. I do like the design of this one, i.e. applying the pop out concept to the walls as well as the roof. As well as rigidity, I can see the "bulbous" walls offering a bit more "elbow room". (though, not sure if "half height" guy points will turn out to be less effective than those at the top, ...... the ol' Pythagoras and basic physics might have something to say about that ; ) ......... but off course will negate the chance of a "reverse" pop ; ) Also, its good to be able to "half" fold up the walls in hot weather. i.e. maintaining shade but providing way more airflow. I wonder if it's possible/desirable to pop the roof first ? when there's less, or no, tension from the walls ......... and why not make the "lantern hook" a strap that doubles as a take down pull handle.. Anyway, best of luck with it mate, no reason why car camping needs be uncomfortable ; ) Cheers Duke.

Hi Duke. I may try again to pop the roof up before pulling out the walls but I will still need to stake it down as it takes a good amount of pressure. Once up, it is incredibly stable. Thanks for commenting

@@MarkYoungBushcraft it does have sidewalls that are rainproof. They roll up, which I find more appealing than relying on Velcro to attach completely separate pieces. I realize it’s expensive, but note it’s currently 40% off on the Eureka website. I wish you and your wife an excellent summer!

So, you spent around a month "screening" the gazebo screen to see if it fits your needs? 😉 I can see why you have the gazebo as another place to go instead of only having a tent. When your not camping, this would be great for picnics in a park or the beach. ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️

ha, one would be amazed at what one can fit in a Jeep Wrangler..for three. Anyhoo, maybe try not staking for kicks...go inside and zipper it shut and then push up roof? Like lightning force taking least resistance? ~ I know ya didn't show it but my mind's eye got what ya meant staking it down. lol, left off folding it up ay? It does look better than some sun shades/mosquito I've bought that twist back to a hoop. ..rain shades/privacy on the outside is a plus for no leaks..well It's not an old Eureka tent of 90s design.
