@@dlattimer9949 In a way Robert and Jimmy were personality opposites. Jimmy was on the shy side, more of an introvert and a thinker. Great interview, very good interviewer. The questions are pointed but never slanted or disrespectful, straight out the door she's not falling for Roberts charm something sadly lacking with most female interviewers. And so Robert starts talking without the bullshit, not because of her direction but because he intends to speak his mind, a sadly lacking present day phenomenon embodied by every "musician" that you or I have heard of...Gone are the days when the Music carried your name before you. Led Zeppelin. Greatest Band that ever walked the planet. What larks Pip.

For a guy who could easily be so conceited if he wanted to be, if he were that way, and definitely has the catalog to back it up. He isn’t that way at all. In fact he’s a pleasant guy, friendly. I never really knew this about Robert. Guys like him, Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, David Gilmour are a pleasure to watch in interviews because they are like that.

When Zeppelin came to an end I really was counting on them being back, but he began to do the solo career it was looking more and more that it wasn't about to happen anytime soon. The Disco thing had seen its moments and wouldnt be at all missed, as far as I was concerned. Roberts new music at times had a familar Zeptillian feel. After about 5 Albums I was able to put together a favorite or Greatest Zens Collection. That I could be ok with but watered down when compared to early 70's experiences of Four Sticks, Heartbreaker, Black Dog, that nothing came close to. That is until the mid 80's and the New MTV movement with its Headbangers Ball my gang having a poker night had it tuned in, when I heard this Slow Mystical guitar riff like no other at the time, I left the game, I had to know more, it was a fifties model Gretsch Falcon, owner Billy Duffy. This Band The Cult was what I was lookin for with its gypsy lookin singer and signature "She Sells Sanctuary" sound. No more new Zep...Long Live The Cult !! I'm glad he mentioned them, If they were NOT similar I wouldn't wanna hear it.

Terry Jones I’m referring specifically to his citingm a) The Jam, which technically came from the late 70s into the early 80s. Very unusual for a giant 70s rock star at that time to acknowledge a punk band at all, much less know the evolution of their sound; b) Kingdom Come, whose LP he clearly took time to listen to and critique. He also references Art of Noise and Eurythmics knowingly, which was pretty rare for a classic rock giant in the late 80s. It was a much more narrowly defined era in pop music. A few years earlier (1985 iirc) The Who tried bringing The Clash on tour as their opening act... arena rock fans threw garbage onstage at them. In other interviews from the same time, Plant also mentions Hüsker Dü, which was strictly a college rock band with no airplay, so I’d say he really worked at keeping his ears open.
