Two of the best in this cast of acting geniuses. I'm a Yank and loved this show. English comical genius at its usual perfection. Kudos, UK. We can't do 'em like you folks can do! (And humor is sorely needed in our country right now (2017)!

Only Fools and Horses was that one time you get an assembled cast that just gels instantly, even the guest artists seemed so comfortable and that I suppose is down to the regular cast making them feel welcome and wonderful writing by John Sullivan.
@clarissamcpigeon78577 жыл бұрын
If you watch the episode "Strained Relations", Del Boy's mourning and emotions shown at Grandad's funeral are all completely genuine because David Jason and the rest of the cast were still grief stricken. I think that scene was shot just a week after the real funeral of Lennard Pearce.
@l340526 жыл бұрын
Clarissa McPigeon You are correct, both David and Nicolas and most of the cast and crew had attended the funeral of Lennard Pearce only a week before and I think that really came through in the acting. Through the genius of John Sullivan even that had a funny twist with the vicars hat☺

In my local pub there was a guy we all called Boycie because he did a perfect impression of Boycie. Not only did he do the voice and the mannerisms, but his jokes were always in exactly the same style. Real name Chris, a washing machine technician.

Bril actors both!. Sad that he's gone, but will always be remembered for Boycie and the many other roles he played. Boycie was the only character I could impersonate...... Smiles. An actor or actress that can immediately bring a smile or a laugh after a rotten day are truely great!

I wish The Green Green Grass was still running :-) Besides Marlene & Boyce, my favorite British tv couple, there were so many (actually all of them) excellent characters !! The farm hands, the cleaner, Elgin Sparrowhawk Farm Manager!!, the Welsh neighbour ... and Tyler's second gf at the end of the series was awesome too, wish she had gotten a bigger role, Samantha Sunderland was brilliantly funny!

John Sullian was brought up on Laurel & Hardy and was a HUGE fan! He based Del & Rodney on Stan & Ollie, 2 ordinary journeymen just trying to make their (often odd!) way through life! Mixed with John's East End memories, it was a winning combination! Tributes/quotes run through two NEW books "ARTHUR AND NORVELLE:THE FORGOTTEN AND REAL LEGEND OF LAUREL AND HARDY", now on AMAZON! Buying these books will help a Project bring back L&H into all out lives, to inspiure more great comedy minds!
