Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

Amazing job - its certainly not as easy as you made it look to 1) carve a masterpiece, then 2) make perfect pours and 3) give it a fantastic paint job. Great stuff - keep 'em coming!

Hi Marling! Here's something I'd like to see you do! Try useing the stiffer side of a feather for the splines of fins? The natural arch of the feather lends itself to the shape of the back of a fish. The splines want to lay flat, close to the stem of the feather. Just flare them out and make them stand up. Lay it on tape flared out, and paint a thin layer of epoxy! Makes for great realistic looking fins! I just wanted to say thanks for the years of sharing your great ideas! I'm a fan, truly! From LOL Lures (that's "Labor of Love") Scot Love.

Have you ever considered cutting a carving in half, like from top to bottom in half, and hollowing out a little chamber area and then putting BBs inside it and then gluing the 2 halfs back together. And basically you have your own rattle trap. This idea is kind of stupid but ill post it anyway. Same idea with the hollow cavity, but on a soft bait. No BBs, but instead inject it with some sort of fish attractant juice. The bait might be strong enough to hold the liquid in while above water and not in use, but when being fished, the deeper water pressure might be strong enough to squeeze a little out here and there. Mixed with a jerk bait style action might help. Yes, im suggesting a lure concept that basically pisses fish attraction.

I've watched alot makers your still my fav. I've watched alot. I've been off KZbin few years I used to make videos show off things was sent to me. When I fished stuff at home. Now I don't make videos like y'all I just make video post no edit just what is. Wish I could start back up soon. After my heart attack the virus hit so I couldn't go anywhere I stopped. Wish I didn't I miss my KZbin friends. But ide love some cheaper lures my groups small and I'm not able to raise big funds. But still love some some and hope few signed so who wins will now it's yours not store made. Thanks for all your time sharing how you make awesome baits. God bless you.
