It's crazy how I started watching this channel because I'm a tackle junkie. Now I've purchased all kinds of tools and supplies and I now make my own lures. Thanks Nate for the inspiration!!

There's always some stick in the mud who just can't like things. Or maybe it's because Mr Marling is energized and sometimes slightly chaotic....I like slightly chaotic, it's normal people stuff.

Are they good to eat? I live on the west coast and we don’t have pike, musky or walleye. Walleye is delicious.

@@Blue_Collar_Hunter I've never eaten pike, but I have heard they taste good. Also heard they are tricky to fillet, because they are very boney.

The laminate reminds me of recycling skateboards for projects. Your channel brings back memories of Every Third Thursday where a snowboard manufacturer comes up with unique ideas. You proved the lure works. Nice!

Every one of these masterpieces are just chock full of visually satisfying components. - Congruent carving & sanding - Lead pour and cooling - Superglue absorbing into baking soda - Wires being twisted into hardware - Eyes dropping into place - Clear coating - Random Marling sounds Beautiful.

4:20 I love how the camera speed and the drill press are together and when you drill the eyes out, it looks like the drill isn't even moving. .

Nice to see the MB way of making a lure from laminated timber. Seen others use old coloured skateboard decks as well, which looks extra cool.

Excited to see a new video before my vacation is finished. Took 2 weeks off and spent half of it trying to carve new lure styles. Also built a 25* jig with magnets! Hopefully be sending you some stuff soon.

Recently picked up a bit of basswood and started carving my own baby largemouth to fish with in SC. Thanks for the new hobby! As far as the pen blank jointed bait, it’s awesome! That striping from the layers looked amazing!

Optical professional here. Long time viewer, rare commenter; Nate those safety glasses you put on for the UV light. Make sure they are made from polycarbonate or have a blue light blocking coating on them. Polycarbonate as a material blocks UV and Blue radiation to some degree so if their just basics, double check the material they are injected from.

I made my first lure carved from driftwood with all the stuff I have learned from your videos thank you so much I wish I could show you the finished product it ain't perfect but it works casts nicely and you can feel the action when reeling it in. You have inspired me greatly

That was a great lure! Got a possible suggestion, try putting tiny plastic wing fins at the back of a joint bait for more of an exaggerated swim action.

I have spent many a lockdown evening watching your superb lure making vids. Your humour along with your skills are just amazing love it. As for Chip my wife loves Chip and i think we are going to end up with a Chip ourselves soon. The " Chip get out of the strawberries" T shirt along with the mushroom patch saga really made us laugh. I’ve been thinking about how someone would be able to do that. I think if you cut the bait in half you can just hollow part of it out. Put some bearings in and glue it back together. Great suggestion!
