I'm a 62 year old white woman, and I can still remember the stares of my mother's friends when I brought my best friend, Wanda Hunter (a beautiful Black girl with the voice of an Angel!) home with me from school in 6th grade, so we could practice (I played piano). My mother, a horrible racist, was furious with me, demanding that I "make" her leave. I would not do it, but the pure outright racism smacked me in the face that day (along with my mother), and changed my life forever. Thank you, Marlon, for this song, whose lyrics spoke to my heart in such a clear and defining way. I have been sending it to my sisters, and my sons, my friends - I'm just so gobsmacked (as my English friends say) by your talent and truth. And I am so glad to see others of my generation discovering you, as we need your voices. Thank you. Thank you.

If I could give this post a million thumbs up I would. In 6th grade, you knew there was something not right about the hatred your mother displayed, and it seems like thru all those years you stood your ground in the same thought process. Your post confirms what we all know...racism and hate is taught, and with the right, pliable mind to receive it, it continues to be a problem. Thanks for not being pliable 😎

I once, as a child, asked my parents what the "N" word was at dinner (I was like 6 or 7). I will never forget the responses... My older sister just froze in place, mid bite. My dad said, "It's what stupid people call black people." I said, "Oh," and then asked, "Does that mean Nannie and Pa-Pa (My grandparents) are stupid?" My parents paused and then, after a few moments, they both said, "Yes." I am so sorry your mother did not act like my mother, but I am glad you saw past it and acted on it.

I am a 65 year old white woman (using my husband’s account) who’s sister wanted to go to a birthday party. My mother asked my sister about the little girl who was having the party. My sister told her the little girl’s name and then said “she’s different”. My mother asked how she was different and my sister couldn’t explain it. My mother asked if she was Japanese (we lived in Japan at the time), if she was disabled (did she use a wheelchair?), did she speak a different language? Each time my sister said no. She couldn’t explain it. So the day comes for the party and my sister got all dressed up in her party dress. She was so excited. My mother drove her to her friend’s house. A little girl came running out of the house. She and my sister stood on the sidewalk and hugged each other. They were so excited and happy. A nice story, right? And then my mother, while relaying this story said, “ imagine my surprise when a little black girl with lots of braids came running out of that house and hugged your sister!” That happened back in 1961. That is how racism starts in a household we all thought was not racist at all. We prided ourselves on being a family that accepted everyone no matter what. This young man needs to be recognized for the hard truths that he has made me and many others face. If everyone in his generation is like him, they will change the world for the better. Marlon, thank you. Your words and lyrics speak volumes to your wisdom at such a young age. Its my hope you continue to influence more people into recognizing their own foibles/faults, to look inward, and seek self improvement.

@@toob247 I can name many things we can do, like storm the capital and get off on bail, but I'd rather talk about how a black person can be a white supremacists. White is an identifier, meaning you have to identify as white. Most people that unknowingly identify as white simply don't know their ethnic background, such as norwegian, swedish, german, spanish (a tricky one for most, but many spanish identify as white, and the spanish where/are some of the worst white supremacists to walk this planet) White, like black is a class designation, it was created by european aristocrats for various reasons, and later backed by a white supremacists scientist in his nazi style classification of race which is invalid due to his racial bias. One example is how the democratic party tries to label south americans as brown, when they actually have an ethnic background, mexican, it any other south american or carribean country. With that being said, people like jesse lee peterson identifies as white all the time, he says black on the outside and white on the inside. although he's pretty ignorant all together. Sounds like this young rapper used an art form to express a truthful observation. I care less whose culture he "appropriated". From him, i see it as a SHARED cross culture of unity and respect and love. Please, we must stop putting labels on TRUTH. Thats how they divide us all. Anyone for truth, just accept the message and for this, praise the messenger because he will influence others still trapped in a 'public lie'.

"TRUTH IS, IF IT WASN'T FOR COVID, TRUMP WOULD HAVE BEEN REELECTED IN A LANDSLIDE". That IS the truth. That's why our lives have been flipped over. Just to get rid of him. Do you see the lengths y'all are willing to go to, just because the TV said "orange man bad"? You HAD to get rid of him... One year later and gas is over 50% more expensive, prices of EVERYTHING rising faster than any of us have ever seen, empty store shelves, businesses can't find people to work. We can't find truckers. We can't unload cargo ships. Your party says I need to show my papers to eat or see a movie, but if I think we should have to show ID to vote, you call me racist. Apparently thinking non-whites are smart and capable enough to do simple things like get an ID makes me a racist, and thinking they're too dumb to get one means you really care about them??? You call Trump a Russian puppet, but on day One biden shuts down an American oil pipeline and then immediately turns around and paves the way for a Russian one to get completed. Now we're paying more for dirtier gas & oil, paying our enemies for it, using ships that pollute to send it around the world instead of getting it here, and you say NOTHING.

What passerby’s don’t understand about Craft, is this man hasn’t changed his script. He’s literally been spitting about these issues for almost a decade, critiquing both political sides. Listen to some of his older works and EP’s. What he’s about hasn’t changed. He’s not hopping on any new wave. Craft has been steady leveling up, and staying true to what he’s about. Much love. Edit: I say passerby’s mainly for the haters and people quick to judge. Thank you to those who are stopping to listen, share, and appreciate this dude’s talent. Welcome to the show.

First thing is, theirs a different between Hip Hop and Rap. Rap is just music and words that turn into just Entertainment. Hip Hop is so much more than music, it's a culture, an attitude, a movement. Hip Hop has stayed true to what it is, unfortunately society has just labeled anything to do with people of color as Hip Hop. This Kat has a nice message, but he's not alone by far. People rather do this because they don't want to admit that they are wrong, or else have to realize they are wrong, even if just partly. A good example is the Trump and Biden thing involving pedophilia. Both got cases of pedophilia pending, yet everytime you bring up their supporter, they point fingers away, essentially giving their supported person a pass. Whether the people are guilty or not isn't the problem, it's the lack of self accountability and hypocrisy.

@@tchoythao1730 agreed. There should also be set time limits on how many times a politician can run for office. As well as a total clean out and replacement of anyone holding a seat in congress or jobs dealing in all government sectors as well as anyone appointed by the president and he himself. Both sides. The decision to who will replace them can be up to the popular vote for each state and the popular vote for the rest of all government seats and positions of power. No more bipartisanship or separate party systems. One that has its vested interest in the people who makeup their constituents and country as well as the interests of the greater good for person and country. These lifers that have been in politics for decades and even less have already been exposed to corruption of some level and they are all indentured to some big money business that financially backed or bribed them so they cant be trusted. There will be no lobbying whatsoever anymore. For profit prison systems will be banned and the facilities will really become places of rehabilitation and will provide real opportunities to restart your life after your debt to society has been paid. Prisoners with non violent offenses will be given parole, aside from pedos and the like which will be turned into automatic life in prison for any of those dealings and be lucky that the pedos and their ilk wouldn't be turned over to face what justice the parents decide. Rape will be just as bad as killing someone, a person who has suffered through it is no longer who they once were essentially that person has been killed and will never return. The person left in its place will have to suffer the rest of their lives. So yes rape will be akin to murder. Ive already wrote too much to where noone will read it but these are just initial thoughts on change I feel is needed. Tip of the iceberg stuff. I got blistahs on me fingahs!! 😆

It's crazy though, the U.S. government literally killed Native Americans to claim ownership of the land that they still to this day charge people to live on. Taxes, the thin veil of murder for hire, represented by an invasion oriented military. "We're looking out for you" they say, "that's what it's for". Over and over again. It's sick more than crazy, really. I'm a white guy who's mostly from Dutch and French ancestry, and I can honestly say that I've learned more about how to be a real and truly honorable person from Native Americans than any other group of people anywhere. They teach that the people who talk about things like white supremacy and racism are the true racists. They think it's all the fault of the media making us think that it's real when it ain't. The problem is that this is the same narrative fascists always use to divide us. People like Tucker carlson profit off creating this white victim complex. Truth doesn't matter to these people. They have created their own narrative where they are the only good people and they will defend it at all costs. To some people even admitting that racism exists would be completely destructive to their worldview and personal identities.

@Weißer Wolf gravy brother but since you asked Tom MacDonald like CringeLord of the nation. He draws attention to social issues for monetary gain with no intentions of making real change in society but he's a grown man trapped in WWF fantasy.... Let him make the most of it 😊

@@frost9681 there was shots at the right and shots at the left, Marlon is clearly more left leaning but it doesn't mean right wing people can't appreciate a good msg and honest intentions, stop adding to the divide. Thanks for that, now I don't have to look up the meaning. :) Makes me think anyone waving a flag right now should flip it upside down in front of their houses. I'm a 'former' patriotic black woman. I no longer have faith in America so I no longer have a flag on my house. If I did, I'd flip it now that I know what that represents. :)
