Tigers in Africa? You read that right!

Tiger’s, in Africa.
If this phrase catches you off guard or feels a little strange, welcome to the club.
Yet, for some reason, it seems just so cool, like it actually really fits. I know that sounds bizarre and I hope I don’t lose you as I share some thoughts on Tiger Canyon, a great new destination I recently got to visit.
According to all of the experts, the clever folk out there, Tiger’s have never existed on African soil. The exact reasoning behind this seems to still be largely misunderstood. What a shame though. I can completely imagine photographing a tiger on the red dunes of the Kalahari, or beneath the stunning forest canopy in Mana Pools. What a sight those would have been.
Tigers have never walked Africa’s national parks or private game reserves, and likely never will. With the exception, of one.

I first seen your posts on Instagram about Tiger Canyon. I was mesmerized. I’ve read their story and researched their history. I think it is a wonderful contribution to conservation on so many levels. It also provides the opportunity for people who dream of seeing a wild tiger but are not able to make it to India or Asia. Many people get to take that one big trip of a lifetime and will choose Africa. For the big cat lover, they can add one more to the list on that trip. It is most definitely on my list now as well as future safaris that I may host. Thank you for sharing.

Tiger and lion populations in India have risen since the end of British colonial rule. For example there were less than 50 lions in India when the British left. Today there are around 600! The real problem in India is the lack of new wilderness habitat for their rising numbers.

If tigers were introduced to Central Africa which some commenters suggest, wouldn't that put the gorilla population at risks? It might be more reasonable to attempt to introduce a population of Indian lions to Africa, because their population is even more endangered, and they would form prides to protect themselves against Africa's native predators and more dangerous prey.

Indian lions are actually related to barbary but the present population is descended from a small population of just 18 lions. Its heavily inbred and hence r quite diseased and ineffective. Many locals treat them like dogs because they r not very aggressive. They d get wrecked in Africa.

For example, killer bees in the Western hemisphere were originally African, but cross mated with European honey bees to form a neo-hybrid version of the bees, or the fact that with global warming comes a new species of bear being evolved through mating between brown bears and polar bears to form a hybrid that can survive the warmer temperatures. Only time would tell via experimental phase introductions. Doing something is better than sitting around and waiting for extinction.

Tigers (Royal Bengal Tiger), Lions (Asian Lion) and Indian Stripped Hyenas co-existed toger in India for centuries. The Jungles were also shared by Leopards, Indian Cheetah (sadly now extinct), Dhole or Indian wild dogs and Indian Wolfs (Seemed like Disney's Jungle Book).

Who cares. 🤷 Let's do an experiment where we put tigers in Africa. I would love to see that. Get a group of wild tigers from Asia or Russia and relocate them. Film it and see how well they do. Same thing with Lions. Tranquilize a whole lion pride. Capture them and relocate them to the Jungles of the Bengal tiger and see how well they fair. It would be an awesome experiment. I would pay money to watch that.

I think Africa is a very different situation than India. Probably a more delicate balance between predators. Tigers have no aversion to water and probably will challenge a Nile crocodile. Hyenas although fearing male lions, sometimes taunt the females. Introducing tigers into this established environment might disturb it…

If Disney weren't a prostituted kingdom dominated by wokes, this theme could well become a new Lion King cartoon. I don't know if you know, tigers are exclusively Asian and don't exist in Africa. However, they recently created a tiger reserve in African territory. Tigers have adapted perfectly to African territory, but great care is needed to ensure that they do not escape and create some type of ecological imbalance caused by the presence of this exotic species for the local fauna. So, they could well create a Disney animation with Simba and his gang, where he would face a type of invasion, or rebellion from tigers unduly brought into his territory. This is a puff piece. You don't address the mixing of subspecies genetics. The white tiger prevalence (sign of inbreeding). The initial advertised goal is a decent idea but the subsequent shadiness of Varty has destroyed credibility along with afore mentioned sloppy approach to genetics.

Yes Africa will now be home to the largest two cat species and Asia will only ve lions,I love it,infact India should send all their preys and tigers to tiger canyon its gonna be interesting,America should send all the five thousand tiger then to India to readapt since no wild tigers are there,or they should send it to Africa, Asia should also send all their captive tigers to Africa for readaptation,all this will protect wild fuana,Africa is home to all animals from Asia to North America. pls it would be wonderful just imagine,just let go it's for their safety...😆😅😭😭😭many Asia's and Americans would start feeling sad ,and Africa will be rejoicing 😇😇.....please let us respect nature and live animals in their respect regions live them their if they go extinct allow it,its evolution stop carrying animals about to different areas that doesn't generally feet them,so please tigers should remain in their region or in the tiger canyons,and should not be released to the African main plains in South Africa to cause not only their distinction from lions and hyena and other dangerous animals to their distinction from lion poachers and tribal wild life killers,I bet if tigers are released its millions for lion poachers,this time tigers are their next target then you all will be seeing tiger farming just like lion farming in South Africa were lion are used as pets as cub then reared as trophy games for poachers,lions in the wild will dominate the tiger of course everyone knows that and the reason,then the tribal farmers and shepherd will feel more threatened by the tiger compared to lions,we know that tigers love easy catch,shepherd herd castles are no one targets for tiger compared to the fact that the lions knows the people well than the tigers and will avoid them and their cattle,those tribes will take the tigers to extinction problem solved...so please just allow those tigers in tiger canyons to stay within their and grow their generations,and should not introduce more tigers from India to tiger canyons which will later lead to pleading funds in other to take care of the cat then as the situation rises they will release the tigers and then the listed pro above will be the tigers downfall,so please and please it took India several years to increase the population of its historical big cat after the British left,and now its ur turn to improve the tigers there and not introduce another there,if possible reintroduce those tigers after the project has accomplished its goal to the Asian prepared secured lands for the tigers were there will no more poachers again,simple don't go further messing up things.........thanks
