@@sjlcanada Marner is the one whose contract is up after this season. And let's also keep in mind he was the only one to play all 7 games last year, while Matthews and Nylander missed games. And he STILL had less of an impact than they did in that series. This whole singling out Marner crap is tired. He's under a point a game player in the playoffs and he's getting paid like he's part of a dynasty.

@@pomerlain8924 matthews, tavares and nylander are all under a point per game in the playoffs lol. and marner was the only one tough enough to play all playoff games despite not being 100% from the injury he sustained before the playoffs. if you actually watched the few games before the playoffs, you could easily see that marner was not comfortable on the ice. and what did the other little babies do....they cried and stayed home because they had little cramps lol. i see pewee players battling through cramps and nausea to play in important games.

Obviously it is Marner, he knows the system, Rantanen would be coming in cold, why is Mitch Marner the media's human punching bag ? All he does is put up points year after year, a consistent asset to the team, any team would Love to have a Mitch Marner in their lineup

Another person hung up over regular season stats. How many times must it be said, it's about the playoffs. And historically, for a guy making almost $11M, he underperforms in the playoffs. And don't try to justify 50 points in 57 games. That's under a point a game, which is below his regular season points per game. And the likes of McDavid, Draisaitl and MacKinnon, actually elevate their play come playoff time. And Rantenan does to. Outside of his first playoff in in 2018, Rantenan has been over a point a game in each playoff ever since. Marner doesn't elevate his game. In 7 games last year, he had 3 points. Rantenan also knows what it takes to win a cup. Marner has won one series.

@pomerlain8924 if he doesn't set up Mathews or score himself, then the Leafs have less chance of even making it to the dance, and i hate the Leafs, what i hate more is a guy used as the scape goat year after year, day after day, it is the hardest trophy/championship to win in all professional sport, last time i checked it was a team sport, not an individual sport
