the pixel is accelerating discord: discord.gg/pixelgrew-1150040799569002586 UPDATE: I literally just finished editing this video, Marques Brownlee just announced 23 minutes after posting this video that he cut the clip I talk about in this video out post-upload, citing that it was "unnecessary" not even apologizing for what he did. Funny. I would have thought this was a funny gag he could have edited in the video but once I found out he was deleting comments, it meant he knew he did something wrong.

Doing nothing would be better than filming a video that contains speeding in a children's zone that quite honestly ruins the ad, and editing it out after doesn't make it any better. Really no excuse. Would be better if it was on an empty highway instead since at least there's no risk of a random child spawning out of nowhere. Although some take issue that it shouldn't be a full-length video ad when you want a trusted source when reviewing tech, I personally don't since he mentioned it'd be an ad so it's not like he lied, but speeding in said zone would definitely make more people not wanna buy the product he was advertising. He's a cool guy, but this could've been easily prevented, especially when another accident like this happened just recently. (edited comment to better reflect my views) (good video btw)
@cubedimensions9 күн бұрын
Thank you however I kinda disagree with one of your points, it's okay to film an ad placement if it's something you actually use, but, this guy had no reason to do this. If you were a body builder youtuber, used an actual protein supplement everyday, and was paid to make a video centered around it, but everyone knew you actually were using it as you said, would that be entirely wrong? However the people in the comments clearly didn't believe Marques when he implied he uses that product in his day-to-day life. It actually didn't look that bad of a product as I skimmed through his video, but, as someone brings up, he made a promise to never dedicate a video to a sponsor supposedly, and he did. If I was sponsored by MrBeast to make a video dedicated to Feastables despite the 20 videos I have calling him and his product out on this channel, it would genuinely be either depressing or hilarious to people that I decided to all the sudden promote the product of a guy I was criticizing. What Marques did today was ridiculous, because, there was literally no reason to include that clip on a video that people were going to already scrutinize him on. This is horrible timing. He was already forgiven for making an app that he'd criticize himself. People bashed him this year for destroying that horrible AI pin company. No one should spend $100s of dollars on that piece of garbage and people were upset he held that much power, when in reality, these people 100% deserved it. The Panels app was a harmless product that affected no one, but, it dented his credibility. This however is a sign of his perfect persona fading, if he really broke a promise that video and filmed himself doing that, which blurring out the speedometer is a blatant admission of guilt, what he did was extremely foolish. Anyways that's what I think. If EVERYONE knows the video is a sponsored video, oh well, you can just skip it. But, he had a unique level of trust for someone his size, that he threw away yesterday that he's going to have trouble getting back.
@Auzenlyxius8 күн бұрын
@@cubedimensions Yeah I agree with this, I should've clarified. Some people lost trust in him due to the video ad, but he has to make money somehow. But personally I watch him for his genuine review takes, and he did mention it was an ad, not a review, so no issue there. Though it doesn't help sales when going through a zone like he did. Wouldn't blame the company if they wanted the video to be taken down. The Panels app after the clarification was honestly fine, and I think it's wonderful to be able to support real artists through it. I do agree it dented his credibility since he didn't make it clear from the get-go. I know in general KZbinrs aren't perfect and are human as well, just as much as I am, but I know some things could honestly be prevented beforehand.

I have revised the thumbnail (it's now two of the three tested thumbnails) with his actual apology. We'll see if this video does well but, he's not surprisingly been deleting comments on his video. I love your videos, but I have to disagree with you on this one well here is my take, 1. No one was around when he was filming it, 2. Calling it reckless driving is absolutely wrong cuz if he broke any property and hit a person, then it would be reckless driving. But in this case, none of those happened, so it would be better justified as overspeeding rather than reckless driving. 3. People are somehow linking this to his downfall and saying he's not delivering good content anymore, and that's largely because this video was a whole sponsored video, but I just don't get it with these people, youtubers must do sponsors if they feel like they need to keep their channel alive. And the sponsor MKBHD did was not a scammy spyware browser like Opera or a shitty ass money thirsty game like Raid Shadow Legends, it was a genuinely good DJI camera, and it really seemed he was doing the sponsor as well as doing a genuine review, and idk why people hate the entire video because of this, but I felt the review, even though was sponsored felt genuinely review, and we should put our hats off for that of MKBHD. Marques knows that some people look up to him to make purchase decisions, so he has expressed it a few years ago in his video that he will only do sponsors if the product was genuinely good. 4. And some Anti Marques people are linking this to the panels app which I also find baffling as Marques already addressed that and he specifically said that Panels was not meant for everyone but it was meant for a specific audience who were willing to download and pay 50 dollars annualy for wallpapers and not for the everyday person. Honestly, I am siding with MKBHD as I see him not doing wrong, and the internet is bashing him too much. But I still understand their concerns, but it feels like an overreaction and I feel he doesn't deserve this amount of hate. But I do find it baffling why Marques chose a school zone for shooting that scene, I mean, no one was there, but still, it was a school zone, didn't he find any other better place like the National Highway to shoot it ❔ But still, no one was harmed, no one was around and even though he did overspeed, he still managed to bring his car back in one piece untouched and did not damage any property, and still showed how great the camera is...
@cubedimensions6 күн бұрын
If you're only going to get in trouble for something if you get caught, Marques snitched on himself! But, blurring that speedometer was even worse than just keeping the clip in, because it meant he or his editor knew they were doing something absolutely wrong. One of the reason I made this video is that this is literally a pattern of behavior, not just a one-off thing. Very rich people tried to cancel him for destroying a horrible product and being part of collapsing a company that employed many people, his fanbase and community stood up for him because it was genuinely a bad product that truly deserved it. No one may have been harmed by his current antics but, if your economy/money primarily comes from people trusted you, yes, he is destroying his career. His video is a breaking point, because, he not only released something of him doing something stupid but then literally did a half-baked attempt at covering it up, which, makes a person who everyone believed was very reputable, no longer reliable. In this video I actually gave the product he was sponsored by credit. Despite it being $150 more, some people can casually throw an extra $150 around and it actually look pretty good! I am not an expert on cameras, but, even if it's a good product, this video has definitely hurt a big portion of trust that his audience has with him.

@@cubedimensions hmm... insightful, I love talking to people like you who side on hate for a valid reason, makes me rethink of the whole situation with a new perspective, so, lemme read this again and again and think.... Look, I get it, Marques was like the most trust worthy youtuber, and he did something messed up and tried to cover it and failed to cover it, and I know, and many people lost their trust on him... but that single incident cannot define Marques as a whole... It was a blunder from Marques, and, update - he apologised on twitter, owned the mistake to himself, removed the footage, said the incident was inexcusable and apologised and said he won't repeat this blunder. And the majority of the internet has forgiven, atleast the ones who know of the tweet. Marques has expressed earlier in one of his videos [I think it was 'Can you trust MKBHD'] that if he is going to do a sponsor, he will do it, only if the product is genuinely good. KZbinrs must do sponsors to keep their channel alive because in some months, adsense is not enough to support them and they get a lot of money when they do sponsors. So, some youtubers just blindly accept some sponsors and say whatever the company wants them to say. But MKBHD and other trustworthy tech youtubers, they know that people look up to them to buy tech, and that's why they are genuine on their reviews and on their sponsors. And they have said publicly that if they ever do a sponsor, they will make sure that the product is genuine and if the product is genuine, then they will agree to do the sponsor. But, Marques also said that he will say what he thinks has to be said, and nothing more. He will not blindly read the script the company offers, he will say what he thinks about the sponsor's product and nothing more. So with that in mind, and considering that DJI [the product's company] is known for making well received cameras, it is less likely that MKBHD has become corrupt. But people fail to see the mindset MKBHD has, and so I am sure he will make a video on this whole sponsor and speeding situation, so let's see what he has to say on that video... and then we can judge him Anyways, it was great talking to you, bro, made me rethink the whole situation...

something could have always happened while he was speeding. You have no idea how it would have turned out whether there was people on the road or not. Speeding is wrong and illegal no matter what the circumstances are. You can't just give someone a pass for reckless driving just because nothing happened that time. People always speed thinking nothing will happen and then bam something happens. So your take is wrong on this

If you don't care about people snitching on themselves, imagine snitching on yourself while already upsetting your audience at the same time. It's always going to be news, when someone who has had a connection with their own audience at that size finally gets broken.
