Healing is key. Becoming whole from the inside out is key. Learning to love God and ourselves is the greatest love of all. The Bible says: Love your neighbor as yourself.". Only then can we love others. Our obedience to God in a relationship and life is key. Marriage is between a man and a woman only, God's way. There is an online course called TOU which stands for The One University which is worth looking into. May God continue to bless u.

I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. It seems like it's impossible for men and women to emotionally connect with each other. Men and women's brains are wired too differently from each other. Women are more hardwired to be social than men are.

Wow. When Kirk said “Marriage was never second nature for me. Work was second nature. I fell into family,” I felt this on my SOUL. Wow. I’m the one in the marriage that has a million things going on at any one time because, as he said, “ideation is in my DNA.” Marriage is work for me because I didn’t have a model for it growing up, whereas my husband did. Phew. So good.

I’ve been married for 6 yrs now and even though I have decent amount of people in my family who have been married for 20 plus years, they never would sit down with myself and my cousins and just talk to us openly as a couple. I’ve seen them angry and talking down about one another but never as a united front. So as a wife now I’ve been working and fighting alongside my husband to make sure we do it the right way, and it’s so refreshing to be able to watch a conversation like this that is full of so much love laughter and wisdom between husbands wives who are doing the work and showing up as a united front.

I love that she acknowledged that people are obsessed with how LONG someone has been married but they don’t take the time to actually THINK for themselves about whether the marriage is healthy or not. I think people believe lies about marriage and one is that length of marriage somehow guarantees health. People really need to start thinking for themselves for once. Sounds harsh but peoples u willingness to question what they’ve been taught is leading to their failure and them also teaching others terrible concepts that aren’t actually helpful.

Sooo amazing to see/hear how marriage sanctifies and keeps people safe! How God puts 2 people together as a circuit breaker for when possibly sinful traits are getting too much - e.g. selfishness, or tuning out others' feelings/thoughts. You always have to come back to your wife when work is over - and exercise that muscle of selflessness that got weak in the workplace!!!

We don’t arrive perfect we get there because of the endurance of what we have been through and through Him we are made perfect on that day. This interview was was excellent.

The open discussion of mental health and the need for therapy. I relearned all over again, our sinful selfish nature the root of brokenness will always need Holy mending, hardcore self improvement, and giving ourselves grace. Not an easy task, but the blessing and rewards that come from fighting the fight of good faith and dying to sin every day as long as we got breath in our bodies, is worth the sacrifice for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.🙏♥️⛪

I wish I could see you when you are here in Chicago but I can't but this conversation is SOO needed for black Christian people that aren't given the right tools to be ready for marriage or stay in a marriage .
