I wouldn't give my kid a smart phone, I would give them a flip phone like the Sonim XP3 that doesn't have the internet and doesn't take photos/videos to make sure they're not doing or watching anything crazy on their phones. I also won't allow my kids to have webcams on their computers and will make sure I block the ability to visit porn sites. Parents who buy their kids smartphones with internet connection and the ability to take photos and videos, who also allow them to have webcams are asking for problems; instead of complaining after your kids get into some crap, you should be proactive in trying to prevent as much of the nonsense as possible. If a kid is taking naked photos and sending them to people, the PARENT has given them TOO much leeway and access to electronics. No kid under the age of 16 needs a smartphone, and if they're over 16 the only way they should have one is if they bought it with the money they make from their after school job or allowance money. Some parents give their kids too much control and privacy, and send their kids to school like it's a fashion show... FOH!
