+creativetears1 in the not-so-Biblical sense of the word marriage, you're absolutely correct. But as Christians scriptures like 1 Corinthians 7 and Ephesians 5 teach us otherwise. "Let marriage be held in honor by all..but God will judge the sexually immoral" Heb. 13:4

Thank you guys soooo much, I'm 16 right now and I've made a decision to stay single until I'm mentally, and spiritually mature. And being so young and seeing how people operate within my age group, it's sometimes hard to want to keep myself. I'm a Christian, and I'm trying to be a serious one. Seeing this gives me lots of hope. Thank you.

I wish people would stop giving you a hard time about being a house wife, even if you didn't have an income and just your husband worked, that's your business. If you two are happy, that's all that matters. Unfortunately this is KZbin and everyone would rather tell you how to live your life...

I can really appreciate that "no disrespect" thing you two have as a couple. And when you said "you say things you don't mean and they stick with you forever." GURL, thats something I never heard before but its real. Someone who I was with for 3 years, when we argued things got VERY disrespectful and some of the stuff he said to me, I carried with me through our whole relationship.(Even though it wasn't like how he felt, it was a "heat of the moment" when you're mad type of thing) That still stuck with me and made our relationship unhealthy I feel. So I never thought of it like that but thats something that I think should be made a guideline in relationships. lol I grew up in the church and strayed from it ever since I been in college (I am still very religious, read my bible, pray.) But maybe I need to search for more God-fearing men and get back into the church just to be closer to God even more. Because y'all are an awesome couple. And its nice to see that.

Don't let heathen minded women influence how you feel about yourself or your marriage. You do not need to chase meaningless careers in order to be fulfilled. More wives need to be at home away from worldly foolishness. There is nothing wrong with making an income online or with your own business. You will be glad you set that foundation when you have children so you don't have to leave them with strangers when They are 6 weeks old. Protect your marriage. Keep it out of the hands and prying eyes of nosey, bitter, single women with heathen mindsets. Don't apologize for being strong in your faith. Don't apologize for the truth.

My husband and I married in our early 20's and I have always been at home. It has helped our family immensely. I make money how I make money and my husband supports and appreciates my creativity. Women will come and try to talk negatively about your situation, so stay strong and tune them out. They will tell you how trapped you are in all of your freedom while they are slaving away chained to a desk 40 hours a week while someone else raises their kids. The Bible calls us to be separate...good for you for being brave enough to do that.

Amen, you are speaking some serious truth because my husband and I have been married for a little over three years and for the first 2 I was a housewife. I was able to be supportive to him and fulfill my wifely duties much better than I am now working a highly stressful job. I make double what my husband makes, but I'm always tired and don't have the energy that I used to have and I can tell he misses the old me. You are really on point...I agree completely from experience.

I'll have you know, both of our parents have been married for over 20 years and they still love each other the same. Marriage for us isn't just about pretty weddings. the world may think that way but we don't, we see things differently. Even when things change and get hard that's when we draw closer not pull apart. We are a family now... When things got hard in my house growing up or when things changed no one left, no one splits up, we worked it out, same with a husband. It's not just two people who decide to like each other, it's two people who decide to be a family. Families work together through anything, even when our needs and desires change, we learn to work with those changes, not against them. That's what REAL love is.

Vicky I have faith in you. I just turned 25, I've been married since I was 21 and right now I'm a housewife until I get my degree. Me and my husband goes to marriage counseling not because we need to but because I was so scared about marrying so young and didn't have an example of a solid marriage growing up like my husband. Honestly age don't matter, all these problems will STILL exist in most marriages despite when they decide to get married. That's just the stages of marriage. I feel like you and Cameron got what it takes to survive the stages of marriage. I got tired of reading your comments with the people putting down housewives, your profession, and "everybody change". Change is inevitable. Everybody will change and continue to change but when you're married you learn to grow with a person. A lot of people who comment has never been married and are bitter about their failed marriage and try to impose their views on people. I am well out the honeymoon phase just after four years and IMMA tell you it's not as bad as people make it seem. You and your husband remind me of me and mines even with the long distance relationship in the beginning. And all of that helps when you had a solid friendship before the union. So I believe in YALL and I think YALL got what it takes to survive the time.
@victoriouslogan

it's not nearly as bad as people make it if you actually LOVE and LIKE the person you're with! the thing about change is that it's gonna happen but real love doesnt change with change, it just gets stronger! that doesnt mean we wont have problems to solve, shoot we have problems now, and we had problems when we were dating, but that doesnt mean i'm gonna yell and scream and cheat and lie, that's dumb! and that would be a waste of both of our time. the problem is people are so wrapped up in themselves and self-gratifcation that they dont see how important it is to consider someone else before themselves. marriage requires sacrifice. and as long as people are willing to do that, they will prosper (: keep ya head and dont let anyone come between your love girl, you can do it! dont be afraid, fear is what tears you down, trust me i know. but dont let fear scare you out of trusting and loving your husband!
@GlamazonJay
@GlamazonJay 9 жыл бұрын
I totally understand. Mind you im out of the honeymoon phase. A lot of the things you're mentioning unfortunately I'm experiencing now. So I understand to a certain extent and you're right, I'm not there yet. However, I won't know until I get there. No one knows. Change are inevitable. It's already hard coping with changes to my body after having our first child and trying to get my husband to understand. That's why I'm glad we implemented marriage counseling when we first got married. And I was told by our counselor we will have to come back every couple of years to learn how to handle these different changes until we can take them on ourselves without outside help. But that's the part of marriage that scares everyone because we don't know how and when to handle those changes, but you can overcome those changes.

What I found that works better than anything is prayer and good examples. Get around older people who have been married a LONG time that know a thing or two, they teach you alotttt! I spend a lot of time with my in laws, and even though that sounds boring, just being around people who have been married for almost 30 years can give you great insight on how to deal with things.

I think that you can't give such a stern opinion about being married young, middle aged or senior age because you guys were fortunate to find each other at a young age and I hope it works out for the long haul for both of you. But not everyone is lucky to find that person they want to commit their life too at an early age. We never know at what age God is going to send that special someone you supposed to be with let's leave that up to him and when that person comes no matter the age its a blessing. I understand you guys are young and I pray you guys build a solid foundation together for life. But as young people such as yourself you still have individual aspirations and goals and sometimes being married early can stop you from going as far as you could go in life because of the commitment to the other person. Especially if that other person may not want to go down that same path. See you can only grown together if both people are willing to sacrifice for the other and willing to take the same journey. Being so young you two haven't really started life as individuals even you said Vicky that you don't have any goals planned and your hubby wants to do an album and you reacted in a surprised way. So who knows when opportunities come your way and his that may change your relationship around, when the comfortability becomes uncomfortable, that's when you know what your marriage is really made of. When hard choices come as years pass and things present themselves in your lives that you really want I hope both of you will be on the same page. But only time will tell, you don't know, I don't know, but only God knows how this will play out so just be ready. Build a super strong foundation and talk more about what each of you want to do and what you want to be as an individual and how both of you can come together on it. So I wish you both well and I love watching both of you and I enjoy knowing your commitment to your relationship and having faith in God.

1. nothing will ever change my love for him. goals and aspirations are important but come after our love. I fully support whatever decisions he makes, as he does the same with me. he actually wants me to have more goals and aspirations... I came into this relationship with that mindset but I'm working on finding my place in life, even while married. he's not stopping me from doing that, he's actually walking with me in that area. but just because we're young doesn't mean we don't know who we are. we are both mature in that we know who we are as individuals, my identity is not defined by him and vice versa. our identities are in Christ (: I DO know that when hard times come sometimes we won't be on the same page, as I would be with any other individual person in the world, but, when those times do come, love and our faith in God will get us through that. love is not always a feeling it's a daily decisions. and I will always decide to love him. I'm not opposed to sacrifice because that's what love is. we have a strong foundation already because we talked about all these things you speak of way before I walked down the aisle. Like I knew cameron wanted an album, I've been pushing him to do it for years. I just acted surprised because he said it on camera. he pushed me to do youtube because he knows I love it and it's an outlet for me and could open many doors in the future! were business partners in this thang. he tries to get me to go above and beyond but I have to get over my fears first lol! but for you and everyone who thinks I'll change later in life or wish I would have waited to marry him after I got a career or something, he doesn't hinder me. he makes me better.

I absolutely agree, Rhonda. That is always my main concern when people get married so young. I know it from my mother's mistake since she got married at 18. I got a friend who is getting married in 2 months and we're only 23 :o But I definitely wish everyone good luck. It would definitely not be me lol

you can't apply other people's choices to everyone though. I got married young and decided to embark on this journey because I believe that's what God wants for my life for the assignment he has for us. I can't be too selfish and trick myself into thinking that living for just me is all I'm here for, ya know? if I took that route I would never learn how to have faith.
@kathope4484

It is a far way of seeing things. I just think that at this age (I'm only a year older than you) we're constantly learning new things about ourselves if we allow it to. When you share your life with someone else, you're not as free to make your own decisions because your decision affects both. Back in the biblical times, it was practical to be a stay-at-home wife but now there are so many things out there and you might change your mind about things. Unfortunately, it doesn't always go eye-to-eye with the person we're sharing our lives with. Like I said before, I hope it doesn't happen to you guys. And at this stage it's still early days - married for 2 years, you're still in the honeymoon phase. And you didn't live close before so this is all new to you (you said you're still finding things out about each other). I wish you guys the best but these are always my concerns with young marriages nowadays.
@victoriouslogan
@victoriouslogan 10 жыл бұрын
Well the difference is that we're not like everyone else. we dont let marriage stop us from being ourselves or making our own decisions. i dont think of it as a burden. it's just like having a best friend you live with. marriage isnt hindering me from doing anything I want to do, if I go on a journey he's supporting me the whole way, it's just that now instead walking alone we walk together. we see eye to eye on that, that's why i married him. we wouldnt have gotten married if we didnt trust each other to support each other. we established that from day one.

Great video!!! I love your chemistry. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. My thoughts on the "Have fun, enjoy yourself when you're single" comment that people say I think they're not saying to go out and fornicate. I think it means to enjoy life because you don't have responsibilities, embrace your singleness, travel, go on a self love journey, experience life, get a hobby, discover your identity, find your purpose, get into ministry, serve, volunteer, build a relationship with Christ (that helps with not being selfish). I am happy that God has blessed you both to share life together at a young age. Those who get married older that's Kool too. Those who are still single can embrace singleness and have purpose in that as well and are not catching ebola in these streets haha lol because they're doing God's work while they wait on God's best! ayee! We are all on different paths and it's all beautiful! God's timing is perfect!

***** #Bruhhh Lol wow. They didn't know any better. I'm glad ya'll saw right through that. Good news, all is not lost. :-) You can still do all those kool things as a wife #whoop #whoop. However, It's all about balance and open communication because your main priority is your marriage. The self love/discovery journey is an on going life long process. As women we wear so many hats... I've learned, You have to be 100% to give 100% and it doesn't mean you're selfish... Don't forget to take care of you too... and your boo of course!

Vickyallday that is very true! when we were dating, I had a lot of time to discover myself and build my relationship with God (which i talked about in my #VickyVibes being a Christian video) since we were long distance. i know who I am as a person but as I grow into an adult and a wife i'm constantly changing and things are different so I'm forever learning. it's always a learning process. The average age to get married in the US is 24, why are people freaking out? Also, as Christians we should be condoning marriages not dating around etc. He who finds a wife finds a good thing. As long as people truly realize the vows and commitments they are making are literally until life do you part then I don't' understand why people are trying to add more negativity and resistance to a young couple that's truly to do right and condoning basically pre-martial sex, partying, "having fun" with other people instead...that's doesn't seem right to me? My parents got married at 23 and 24 and enjoyed their marriage 8 years before my sister and I were born. I think getting married young is a beautiful thing. Instead of why ask why not? God would rather see more young people making commitments and keeping the family structure first.

I just got saved Feb 16 of the this and just turned 18, when I first got saved it was a struggle for me trying to help my "friends" understand why I've changed and why it's necessary for me not to do the things that I used to. Being young and saved is hard and I commend you guys for sticking to it. Marriage is a commitment of 2 lives. Those that are single can find companionship with another that is supportive of their endeavors and sharing each others journey. I have shared many firsts with various people and they were all special because of who they were and still are in my life. That is what made it special. If I were to be with one person for 20 years, then some of those firsts may have never happened so I am grateful. You can also experience firsts over and over again because it is about the experience with that person. Each time is something new. Love is expansive it is unconditional and has no conditions if it is truly Love. Love and relationship starts with self. The extended relationship is with another individual. Two people of different flavors with a base foundation becoming one unit but not omni-one. Knowing onmi-self is what makes the relationship better. Some people know at 20 some people know better at 60. What I did at 20 and what I do at 47 is totally different and the knowledge, THANK GOD!, knowing more of me makes me a better person for the next woman in my life and that is because of the various experiences. The been their and done that make the relationship less roads to travel, smother journey and peaceful times together, i feel it is because we bring more life experience to the table. Relationship is not about sex. If someone thinks that then they are not understanding the universal or spiritual laws of gender and companionship. Sex is just the icing. If you lick the icing off the cake then you just have plain cake and you'll be missing the sweetness.

It is so refreshing to hear from a couple of the same age who are truly committed to each other. I am 21 and engaged to be married next year. I am beyond happy about the union to come and so many people find it difficult to understand. We have a strong friendship and foundation in faith as well. Thank you for speaking on this subject matter. In this day and age everyone seems to be seeking the next thrill or believes they are missing out on something by committing to just 1 individual.

You two are so beautiful and compliment eachother so well!.... I'm 20 years old, I've been with my boyfriend since I was 15, he was my first everything, but I wasn't his. I can say, that I'm the type of person that takes my feelings seriously so if I'm being vulnerable, I don't want to get played, I can't take it. So I always have my guard up, I admit a little insecure about thingsbor what not. My bf talks about marriage A LOT... He gets upset when I change subjects, my reasoning is I just always think "maybe if we wait a little longer, he'll know for sure." I tell him like we're too young for it but really I just don't want to jump into something and it's not what we want. How did you get passed the unsure feeling???? Like I'm always stuck on "what if" so how did you get over that? Or did you even experience that?

I love you two! I've been with my husband for 5 years, married since September. I am definitely like you, a planner & my husband is totally laid back go with the flow type person. I agree with everything you two talked about in this video. Never ever ever go to bed angry! the best advice we ever received! & its so real when it comes to that, it sucks when & if it ever happens. Let me tell you! I've been up all night going crazy over it too 😅 I have to show this video to my husband!

i personally wasn't thinking about marriage at 22. I was happily single. Although by age 26 I had 2 proposals that i turned down from good men. Relationships and marriage is not all there is to life. There is absolutely nothing wrong with dating/courting minus the sex. Dating is how some ppl get to know themselves and others. You are 22 and it shows. You seem like a smart girl with a lot to learn, starting with humility. I believe that for some ppl God knows they need to marry young to save them from themselves. Whereas others can go out and have different experiences and never leave God and still do the right thing at 30/40. Maybe you weren't strong enough for that. With age and experince comes maturity and wisdom and that is a beautiful thing.

I agree, not everyone's path is the same, not everyone is meant to get married at a young age. marriage isnt all there is to life but for me and my husband marriage was the most important step for what God is trying to do. i honestly dont believe that there would have been enough time for us specifically to wait until 30 or 40 to get married because someone has to create/save the next generation, and I believe the ONLY way we can do that is to build it with strong families and show them what REAL love is. they're watching us and they need that example. and when it comes to real love, that's what we have, so we have to demonstrate that to them.

I hear ya. Im sure you get a lot of flack for marrying young. doesn't matter the age you marry, long as you marry the right person. everyone doesn't meet the right person right away. Its just the way you spoke in your video you sounded a bit arrogant & critical of others. I'm sure that wasn't your intent. Sometimes its not what you say but how you say it. Your marriage is YOUR testimony and it should glorify God, but the delivery of your testimony may hinder someone. you never know what regrets/hurt ppl are dealing with. The next generation also need to see ppl who have made mistakes and had different experiences so they can learn from them.

This video just gave me life because I'm 20 I'll be 21 in New Years Day. I will be single for 2 years in February and it has been a long journey for me. It's hard being alone sometimes but this just put everything into perspective for me. I definitely want to be with someone who supports me and has the same morals as me since that was a problem in my last relationship. People always tell me don't rush just have fun and do whatever and I could never understand why I couldn't let loose but it's because I don't want to go around having sex with just anyone and being in meaningless relationships so I thank you for putting that out there and I honestly wish the best for your marriage. I pray that it continues to flourish. I love yall and yall give me hope!

God bless you both. It saddens me that women will come on here bashing being married at young age. And yes all women should aspire to not sleep around and have premartial sex. Yes women should aspire to be a wife, especially if we are calling ourselves Christian God fearing women. I have been married 5 years and i work part time from home and i also have a 1 year old son and plan to finish school with the support of my husband. Marriage is ordained by God and is a beautiful thing. I totally got what you were trying to say. People just like to nit pic! Be blessed

It's so funny and cute that you two as preachers kids get together. I really do see the big pressure on PK's. Every one is looking at you and you have to live perfectly in people's eyes. One fault and people are being judgemental and stuff. Also, parents are so busy and maybe lack some time with their children because they have to take care of the whole church. But glad you found each other! God bless you! New subbie!

Yes! You and your husband did this vid very well. I'm all for young couples marrying. "Time ain't forever." What does the rest of your life mean? Ppl want to act like they're living their lives in t.v. show. The "right" time is whenever the right time is for you. I'm glad your husband said this is mine and can't anyone tell me how to run it. AMEN. Some ppl are so quick to tell you "I'm grown" in one breath. Then, in the next "I'm still too young." What???? Anyway, this vid is so refreshing to watch. This is what I'm talking about. We're not doomed. Everybody isn't down with the "struggle".
