When Sergio Lozano left his parents' apartment Wednesday night after dinner, he did not know it was the last time he'd see them. Hours later, the Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Florida, would collapse, taking Gladys and Antonio Lozano's lives. I'd definitely have to move. I wouldn't be able to do it. After 9/11, it took me until 2006 before I could head downtown to where the towers used to be. And I only used to *work* in Manhattan - it's not like I had a deep, personal connection to those blocks.

@@mandijudy261 it’s so heart wrenching. I would venture to say that they are going to go from search and rescue to search and recovery. It would be a miracle at this point if they find anyone alive. Between the amount of time it’s taking and the heat, those bodies will have to be identified through DNA, and that takes a lot of time. I imagine they are collecting DNA samples from immediate family members already just for those reasons.

Condominiums take your fee every month but yet they don't say where the money's going they need to have a law that the Condominiums have to prove what they are doing with the money bottom line that needs to be people watching home associations you be surprised how they got away with stealing right out of your pocket

@@reneecollins9681 I live in a condo community. I rent from the owner so I don’t pay a HOA fee. It’s like $400/month or more in some places. Not sure what it is here but they take good care of this place. The repainted the outside and then put a new roof on. I believe that all comes out of all the fees paid to the HOA. Then the HOA does all the paying of all the maintenance and up keep. But I’m a renter. They do give the minutes from their he HOA meetings to owners. So they should be getting reports on what’s needed and what’s going on. But all of this stuff is heartbreaking and this couple set an example of love for their son and siblings if there’s more. This is a tragedy and all the HOA stuff will be handled by the surviving members And I feel out of place talking about it when many died and many have to pickup the pieces and grieve and find housing and make funeral arrangements most likely. I don't think that this is either funny or sad and tragic. The people in there were obviously not morally good people and I can prove it. I am a fair person to offer to always love anyone in the entire world who will reciprocate that kindness. No one in the world though except my family and friends reciprocates. The result is that everyone else in the world is evil since only evil people would not reciprocate any kindness offered to them. This includes the people in the building. So, only evil people lost their lives. Thus, it would be irrational for me to be sad with the loss of evil people since the degree of the loss of evil people equals the degree to which the world becomes a better place.

Exactly! That property owner has much to answer for, as do the people who got those reports of serious problems with the building and did nothing over the last 3 years. How can they just blindly play with people’s lives?? It’s absolutely mind boggling that no one followed through on any of this. This happened due to greed, plain and simple. Now look at the very far reaching effects that will come about because of that greed.

I only read that one homeowner was taking video to show water leaking from the ceiling all the way down to her car, and sent it to the builders/ company. It’s so sad what happened, all we can do is pray for these people 🙏

@@ally7deto192 I didn’t mean to imply that one condo was responsible. I had just read that each owner had to come up with their own money for repairs and that a one bedroom unit’s cost would be $80K. That’s a lot of money but they’d be kinda stuck laying it, I guess. They couldn’t sell any unit without disclosing that there was a large payment coming due for repairs on the building. I wonder who pays to fix things now, or if they will tear down the remaining parts of the building.

I think, that is exactly what happened. Most likely passed away in their sleep while the building debris fell. I pray this happened to most, that they were gone before they knew anything. R.I.P.
