Firstly THANK YOU, for posting this video. BAH in basic/tech is based on your dependents location correct not bases? Also does it differ if you have kids? I’m starting my process now, going for a weight waiver as I can’t make the 192 requirement. Have my work cut out for me as I’m older (34) and I’m sure most of the guys I’ll be going in with will be youngsters 🤦‍♂️

kyle42903 you will actually be surprised I was24 going in and most are over 21 had one guy who was 37 you can do it. Dependent rate is dependent rate doesn't mater how many of them you have. And yes bah is based off your permenant residency address so mine was back in indiana so that's where my bah was calculated

Thank you, do they deduct it right back since you live and eat on the base? I’m from NYC, so my BAH is about $4000 as far as I know, would it all be taken right back(considering going as traditional guardsman).

Dmitry Bondar so if you are married or have kids you have to provide a place for them to live while you are in bmt and tech school. So they will pay you bah to provide living for them. As for guard goes if you own a house already they will pay you bah to keep your place if you are renting and have no dependents they will break your lease for you. The guard is a little different in how it works.

She will be listed as a spouse if you come in married or when you get married you have to set it up if you are already in

Michelle S it goes in your bank account up to you if you give it to them or not. My wife lived with my parents while I was gone so we would have a easier move when I got bsck and I banked the 1200 every month for six months
