I always had a soft spot for JLOs rom coms cuz sometimes their actually pretty entertaining especially growing up watching most of her movies cuz my mom loves her . So when I saw this trailer I was like “ hmmm… this actually looks ok”

Your statement "It's amazing what you can get away with if the two leads make it engaging enough and have good chemistry' is bang on. Movies like this, most movies actually, are about characters. Do you like them? Do they get you on their side? If you have bad characters, your movie is probably doomed. Or it's Avatar.

Wait, the Lead guy is actually a likable guy and has priorities (doing his job than getting on the today show)?? Now THAT I didn't expected! Usually these movies have a guy who spends the entire movie throwing shit at the female lead and both just show why the two should not end up together which they always do at the end.

I really want to see this movie, like no joke. I LOVE romcoms, and I didn't think Maid in Manhattan was all that bad. But, even though I love romcoms, I still recognize bad ones like Made of Honor, woosh was that bad.

I missed the poll but this is kinda about what I was expecting. The trailer being everywhere was annoying but it gave me the vibe of a movie that’s probably better than what’s being advertised, and Owen Wilson can’t go too wrong in a nice-dude role.

Right? Even his role as a womanizing baseball player who wanted to go monogamous with the main character in "How Do You Know" was likeable. That movie had a weird character dynamic, very "Sleepless in Seattle" where the original love interested that the main lady dumps for the main guy was actually a good guy too.

The trailer to this threw me off, as it reminded me of the plot of a comic book. Turns out it's an adaptation if said comic, with the characters aged up a good 30 years. Awesome that it's a solid flick.

They should've gone with the Anacondas instead of the Pythons for Owen Wilson's math team name in this. This really was a nice little surprise though, I agree with the B grade. It actually has me wanting to check out the web comic.

Funny thing is the webcomic didn’t have a lot of these stock tropes in it, the villain boyfriend didnt exist at all and it was even crazier with its story.

@Clay Campbell I never heard of the webcomic but the boyfriend from the second comic is adapted into a Latin singer named Bastian and the average guy still has a best friend named Parker so for that alone I recommend going to a local theater cuz it was a great movie.

We stop watching it right when we found out that Owen Wilson will not meet his biological daughter, but then somehow can play the role of a father to a daughter….. he has two other kids but refuses to meet his daughter :(

The poster for Blacklight makes me laugh. What were they thinking? 'You're going to need more men'? That's your tagline? Wood Rocket needs to do a psy porn parody where it's not even changed. Ha. Then the blacklight gag can be them finding something with a blacklight, but it's not what you think.
