I remember buying his album "Since Kyabram" about 6 years ago before I took a trip out to Árainn Mhór, I found a field to lie in near the shore and made a pillow out of grass then I dreamed away with this song on repeat. Simply stunning!

'What have you got to lose' means what is the worst thing that could happen, it means the sea had nothing more to lose by accepting than she did if she rejected him because her state would be the same
