Looks like an awesome light! Really liking Mars Hydro’s bar style light lineup! Gotta disagree about the research suggesting that 1,000 PPFD is the safe upper range of light that Cannabis can handle though. The research actually shows that Cannabis has no light saturation point (at least up to 2,000 PPFD which to my knowledge is the most that researchers in clinical trials have subjected it to and I personally know people that have gone as high as 4,000 PPFD under LEDs). If you read the research paper published by the University of Mississippi you’ll see that it showed that the Peak Photosynthesis rate in the leaves was reached at 1500 PPFD and 30C/86F at ambient CO2 levels, but the researchers actually found that the rate of transpiration continued to increase up to 2,000 PPFD. What the study actually showed was not that Cannabis requires supplemental CO2 beyond 1500 PPFD (let alone 1,000 PPFD, which is kind of an absurd limit when you consider that sunlight regularly reaches 2,000 PPFD and Cannabis evolved as a Full Sun plant), but instead that CO2 is required when leaf surface temps exceed 30C/86F; which is likely why indoor growers mostly growing under HPS light which emit considerable radiant heat downwards into the plant canopy came to believe that 1,000 PPFD was the safe limit to use without the need for supplemental CO2. This study on the other hand actually tested dry inflorescence yield and found that, while leaf Peak Photosynthesis did seem to top out at 1500 PPFD, actual inflorescence/flower weight yield continue to increase linearly all the way up to 1,800 PPFD and even up to 2,000 PPFD. And this was done at atmospheric/ambient CO2 levels. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8144505/ Thanks for the video and review though. ✌️

Both lights will be good the fce has like 1000 more diodes even tho bridgelux might not be ""as good and last as long"" with that many more and same watts will drastically increase life of diodes so they will last long time probably same amout of time. So do I HAVE to use supplemental c02 for this? What if I don’t.
@alexmaclean1 Жыл бұрын
Not at all! From these numbers co2 would help slightly at full power in a 4x4 tent. In a 5x5 the numbers drop below the co2 threshold where it wouldn't really help at all. If you don't want to run c02, which most people will never do anyway, just save some power and run it at 75%, full power in a 4x4 likely wont hurt much but its a waste of money and is just going to make temps higher and put unneeded wear on the light.
@sineater66093 жыл бұрын
A little more info If you run that light in a 4x4 tent without side bracing and you have negative pressure in your 4x4 the sides would be sucked into the light...so will need to brace sides of the 4x4 tent 1st...

When your testing these lights the leds are working at different intervals. They are never all on full power 100% of time. You would have to hack your grow light and sacrifice it's lifespan to get a real test. Or run the test multiple times in each square until you finds its highest and lowest value. You can see the changes in voltage per led with good eyes.
