Hilarious how Retroblasting sympathizes with Mars/Conrad in his attempt at damage control of his reputation instead of trying to fix the actual issues and provide replacement parts to those who had requested them and basically tells off anybody who is a dissatisfied paying customer with a legitimate grievance that they are just a “Troll.”

EDIT: I stand corrected, Michael has since cleared the air on this. (Original message below) Michael doesn't strike me as the sort of guy who holds himself to account. Dont hold your breath - he will avoid and deny this topic like he runs away from everything that slightly gets to him.

I've already told the Mars Industries Group, Inc. about how screwed up this idea was. Even on the 1/48 Aoshima model that we all are familiar with, you don't have to take the top of the helicopter off to get to or insert the pilot figures - you only have to (and rightfully, I must say) place them in the helicopter. That was a MAJOR DEALBREAKER for me!!! So, what am I doing with the money I had originally put forth toward this project? I'm putting it toward an accurate and television-correct "BJ & The Bear" Kenworth K-100 semi & a matching trailer from MNTrailers!!! Mars Industries -- you should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves!!!

I'm surprised that guy wouldn't let his resin dry. Unbelievable
@bradlanghorst6269
@bradlanghorst6269 Жыл бұрын
It’s even worse than that. In resin printing, you don’t let the resin dry. You let it drain off parts and if you’re printing hollow parts, you put drain holes to let it drain out. Once the resin is mostly gone, you wash the parts in alcohol and then cure them with UV light. And yes, you even cure the inside. This resin is UV activated so if you get it on your hands and walk out in the sun, you may suffer burns. The fact that he is printing hollow parts (nothing wrong with that necessarily) without drain holes (a huge problem) leads me to believe he is very new to resin printing and did no research. It was one of the first things I learned when I started using resin printers.

If I paid for for something like this and it arrived in such poor condition, I wouldn't even bother attempting to assemble it. I would toss it in the trash and never make another purchase from the seller. It's absurdly horrible.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked how poor this model is created. These guys were not designers or even competent hobbyists who would have picked up on stuff like sanding your vacuform block. I'm really sorry that something which should have been a dream come true turned into a giant turd. Your fixes definitely helped make it look better but I can't imagine how an inexperienced hobbyist or toy collector would have any recourse but to just stuff the pieces into the box and hide it somewhere in the furnace room.

i noticed right away with this scam the turbo thrusters were way to big and the recon pods above were way to small and almost nonexistent. I made mention of this to them when they were first showing it off and instead of mentioning it was a early mock up that could change they just gave some nonsensical bs reply of it being a model design and stability feature issue that needed to be made over accuracy. The real reason is it's just a poorly made inaccurate model they didn't want to make any changes to.

When Michael reviewed this he was given a full prototype and backed the kickstarter he also did a livestream with the creator to explain these faults if he does get one he will review it unbiased and tell everyone his final opinion on it he didn’t get paid to promote it and just drew it to peoples attention if it is bad as you say the creator is looking at serious trouble

I was going to buy this kit but the detail is too shoddy and basic and too much work needed to make it a decent kit. At $450 it's one expensive kit that's not worth the money. Don't know why they didn't just scanned a 1/48 scale and blew the scale up instead.
@maxbrandt6
@maxbrandt6 Жыл бұрын
What a shame! You would think that at 1/18 scale they had plenty of room to get things correct and have everything fit nicely, instead you have something made by people who don't quite know what they're doing, and the product is awful. This is a big turd!
@Loulovesspeed
@Loulovesspeed Жыл бұрын
If you are looking for a "scale" model - this certainly is not it! If you are looking for a nicely manufactured quality model - this isn't it! If you are looking to spend a big chunk of money for a totally crappy pile of resin - Bingo! This is it! Can't believe any company would sell a p.o.s like this! Disgraceful! I'll stick with good old reliable and significantly more accurate injection molded plastic.

You said you're a professional model maker...Whyyy..didn't you just get a 3D file online and print yourself??? I also would like to know whyyy you didn't sand the th model before painting?? I'm an "amature" and my stuff is always sanded smooth. Something is very off here. I'm no French fan, but I also hate bs. I think everyone should be forced into one video chat and have at it.
