Nope the is hard on the start but when u upgrade the techs and got good general the game is going to be a lot easier.

Full tech upgrades, all wonders&landmarks, gens: Guderian (heavily upgraded to the point he is mini Manstein), Rommel, Rokko, Vatutin, Ivanov, Konev, Leeb, Nennonen, Rundstedt, Yamashita, Arnold, Chennault, Dowding, Nimitz, Darlan, Horton, Nagumo. Bunch of gens are upgraded with rumour, inspiration or leader skills along with plethora of ribbons and medals. Still, there is no way to complete 1939 speedruns without S&L or medal switching and I've been playing this game for 6-7 years, back and forth.
