Regarding your comment on the inspection label of the amp, it is pretty unlikely that the Jim that tested the amp was Jim Marshall himself, first for the reason you mentioned, which is accurate, second because he was never a guitar player but, oddly enough, started his career as a drummer... Anyway, that amp is one of the best ever made by Marshall. I have the combo and also several heads of this model and I just love it ! Dig the extension cab, would like to find one... Very detailed review but the real question is how reliable is this old girl? Had any issues? And how does it sound? Would you buy one in 2018?

I've never had any problems, but that's just regular servicing / valve replacements it's as reliable as a factory new model

Thanks for this informatif video.I still own a 6101 in blue tolex,with the extension cab in blue,both with the Celestion Gold speaker.Beautiful amp,but hardly in used at my home,due to all Rivera amps i own.So thinking about selling this set. The powertubes here are Svetlana's but not the better winged C version,but the later ones.

New Old Stock (NOS) are components that were built during the time of the original manufacture, by the original manufactures source, and put in it's packaging years ago and never opened until you open it. ... so it's "new" because it's never been used, and "old" because it's as old as the original parts... New, Old-Stock. You'll find this term on lots of restore projects. Usually the "NOS" parts are better

The blue ones with a brass chassis, only 800 made, the blue with EL34's were only in production for a year so probably only Marshall know how many they actually made, but it is limited.

I think the LM version had 6L6's instead of EL34's in the power stage.
