I got mine from guitar center for $300. I can’t complain it’s a great amp for my room, great sound, and it can get really loud. The presets are great and you can purchase a foot pedal from $60-$80 depending on where you’re looking. At the end of the day you pay for what you get, if you want an authentic tube quality sound spend the extra money for it. For what you get out of the code 50 etc. it’s a great bang for your buck and you won’t be disappointed.

It all depends on what you want, for less than half you could get the Fortin Nameless which sounds just as good with 3 Fortin pedals. But that is also a plugin and not a physical amp so it may not be suited for some situations

Hahaha.....that's funny and describes the CRAZY game we play for TONE!!!! I mean its funny due to most of the things I read about it is the way it had ICE PICK highs and no low end.....lol.....some say ...its too muddy .....lol.....its all in the guitars tone and the guitars TONE CONTROL that has a HUGE bearing on what tone you get......but in the end ..it is WHATEVER is pleasing to YOUR EAR and the tone you have in YOUR HEAD !!!.....

I was feeling the same way, actually, for some years concerning amp sims. I was really into them and felt like I didn’t need anything else, but after a while I got tired of the responsiveness of them. The Neural DSP stuff is pretty realistic, but I started missing playing on a real amp earlier this year. As a result, I’ve been getting pretty obsessed with amps lately. But yeah, I’d rather play on my little Joyo Bantamp Zombie 2 than the Neural DSP Plini if I’m going to be sitting and playing only... and not recording/writing on the computer. There is something about it that feels way better to me. It’s more of a feeling issue rather than a sound issue for me.

amp sims to me, means latency. I have the Code 100 Combo. Blows the 50 outof the water, with speaker out extension and effects loop. but also have a Blackstar HT Stage 100. Now THAT is a. amp.
@mcchurch118
@mcchurch118 3 жыл бұрын
With amp sims it all depends on your setup and signal chain, if you are using direct sound then yes there is latency but is you use ASIO then there is 0 latency. Found that out as I experiment with different setups. Yes the code 100 is better than the 50 but you also pay more so I would expect it to be better and for the bedroom player I still think the 50 is overkill but I can see players wanting to have more features. I think I have played a blackstar once a long time ago but that is about it for my experience with them. But the awesome thing is the creative choices we have and trying to find the tone that is right for us and the journey to get there

@@mcchurch118 so I get the plug in on my pc and run my guitar into my pc Into my amp? Would I need a daw for that? Thanks for the help I dont know much about gear.

@@PhilipSalisbury I gotcha, a lot of my knowledge comes from trial and error lol. I have a video on how to set it all up (How amp sims work) where I walk you through the process but if you have a interface with monitor speakers, you don't need a DAW for Neural's plugins to work

My 20w Line 6 blows this amp out of the water for tonal quality. Marshall missed by a country mile with this hunk of dung. It has a thick, muddy, fuzzy, "boxy" / "tinny" sound that sounds like you're playing through a broken a.m. radio. I couldn't even get a usable distortion tone with a 7 band graphic EQ. Don't waste your money on this trash like I did.
