Great interview. I found Marshall a year or so ago and I may never reach his level but I still have fun with it. When he talked about taking snipits of Yngwie tunes to make practice more fun he is 100% correct and all the sudden you pick up the guitar and you nailed it. It works and Marshall is live every Friday night at 1030. Just thought I would mention that.

I’ve been following Marshall for many years now and had the privilege of receiving a couple of lessons from him. He is the real deal. His technical ability with the instrument is off the charts, and he possesses an aptitude for music and guitar technique which is very rare even in our modern digital age of scores of virtuoso internet guitar players. He is truly remarkable and inspiring and it would behoove anyone looking to elevate their playing to take a look at what he does. Thanks for the great interview, Streetwise.

Marshall is an extremely limited 'one trick pony' who can't even play the intro to 'Aint Talin Bout Love' by Van Halen without fuking it up, because all he cares about is 'ease' rather than vibe = timing, attaak, texture, & 'feel'. He's a 'note glutton' who does a lot of 'scale yo yo' games & 'any old notes will do', played on time or not, same as he tries to shove the world down his throat, until he balloons up like an elephant =)) Where he is most impressive is when he slows down enough to do something MUSICAL like solos over 'New Retro Wave' or (gasp) blues, where his aggressively swooping, accurate bends could get him lots of $ession work, but he just doesn't give a fuk, because he is a 'trust fund baby' =P Like how he was fired from his 'petroleum engineering' job because he refused 2 stay on task HAHA He admits this. He's even making his kids fat. Have U seen? The little 1 who won't listen is even 'headed for tranny' with 'moobs' & gigantic tent-like shirts like some kind of mu mu dress =))
