This 900 and that cab are absolute killer . I run my 1990 EL34 JCM900DR through a V30 4X12 cab and it is to me the best Marshall I ever owned . I`ve had many ... 800 , SLX , 900MK3 , my 4100 is my all time favorite . Its got that bottom end bass thump even with single high notes , just like we hear in this vid . Its an awesome amp .

I play a modded Marshall JCM 900 and it absolutely cranks! You can get them for like $500 or $600 on craigslist and they do rock punk metal really nice. Little trick with HUGE results for the Dual Reverb owners. Run a patch cord into the send and return of the effects loop. Then slowly turn the effects loop dial until you hear the amp getting louder. Stop when you are at the loudest spot which is usually around 10 or 11 o'clock on the dial. Congrats! You just turned your amp into an absolute beast that will cut you in half if you stand in front of it cranked! It takes 2 seconds and it will not hurt the amp...I asked the guy who modded my Marshall before I did it and he said it would be fine! So far so good....My amp went from good to great from a $5 mod that I found on Marshall forum that I could do myself. The guys in my band couldn't believe it. Our ears were all ringing like crazy after our first practice with my "new" amp! I'm now turned down two spots on the dial but cutting through twice as good! Try it you will LOVE it!

BigMac Fullerton No different to just turning amp up! Also what if you want to use the loop for effects?
@rasmusolesen53076 жыл бұрын
You get the full sound using the effect loop with pedals or just a patch cable. The point is that you bypass the internal "bypass-circuit" which literally sucks. The only difference is that you might need to adjust the send/return level different for specific pedals, compared to a patch cable.

it has quite a dark dirt sound though. that's why it sounds so tight with a strat, the brightness of the guitar balancing/counter-acting the darkness of the amp. the tone around 9:45 sounds much nicer to me than in the intro with the les. the clean channel always sounds gorgeous.

This is a re-issue.The 90's originals have the master vol in different place.the re-issues sound great,just not as good as the originals,because of the cheaper quality components.The 90's models were all the same(except some tubes some had 5881's or El34's).I think the best are 96 ,97's once they fixed everything from the early 90's and they were spot on.if you can find a 96,97 buy it! They sound great! and are were the toughest in my book with good parts.The reissues do sound good though IMO. The reissue's have 5881's(6l6's) instead of EL34's like the plexi's and the %90 of the 90's 800's & 900's. Its nice to actually see a guy who knows how to use a 900.They are very subtle amps,small changes make big sounds changes

Kate Andrews I have never played a re-issue amp that sounded anywhere near as good as the original EVER! They are not good at re-issues they are good at ripping you off. A re-issue 900 costs thousands and can't touch a "real" one that you can get for hundreds! You're a fool if you buy any re-issue amp!

well trey azagthoth of morbid angel uses one. I'm not sure which one or year but he uses a pro co rat and some other shit in front of it. It depends on what you like.
