Great demo. These are seriously misunderstood amps and I’m happy you’re showing everyone that’s in fact the case. Of course we all love the 2203/4 but the 4100/4500 are awesome amps. If people can’t hear that in this demo, well then I don’t know what to tell them.
@superchampableАй бұрын
Every thing zach records sounds good but this is the worst I've heard on his channel. Its not just the diodes but a combination of the op amp front end. Terrible amps. Didn't the designer start Blackstar and the preamps were quite similar ad sounded just as bad?

The 900's are so underrated and you're giving a good example why.
@guitarexpert22454 жыл бұрын
They're not underrated. Majority do NOT have EL34's like this one. If they have 5881's/6L6's they sound very thin.Plus those awful diode clippings give it a Solid State sound. That's why are NOT underrated. Most of them are just awful. This one he's playing isn't. One just sold here at G.C for $800 with EL34's and I played it , it Rocked but already have a JCM 2000/ & Silver Jubilee Mini. Couldn't justify the cost. But Zach makes great video's for sure. I like that he doesn't just use IR's /actually uses real cabinet.

@@guitarexpert2245 I have a 50w 4500 with 6L6s & it rocks pretty hard. Like most tube amps you have to crank the crap out of it to get anything. I’ve had a few 900’s over the years and the real eye-opener for me was plugging it into a Greenback loaded cab. I had a 1960A cab with the G12T-75’s and it was harsh and cold. Thin, too buzzy. Different cab with different speakers and all of a sudden my 4500 sounded great. I feel as though the bad rap comes from either the amp not being turned up a little, the wrong speakers (despite the 900 cab coming with them from the factory), or people hoping it would sound like a Rectifier.
