I had the DSL 100HR and for the money it's a really good amp. But I'd say pull the trigger and grab ya a JVM 410H or JVM 410C. I have both and they are just totally off of the hook!! Best amps I've ever owned!!

Heyy mate, do you know if the combo version is exactly the same as the head? I mean, does they sound exactly the same if you use the same cab for both? Same components, same circuit, all that stuff.

You probably have figured out by now. But just focus on one channel at a time. Also the reason it has 2 master volumes is so you can set one slightly louder than the other and switch over to it for leads without having to leave the channel you are currently on- convenient! Enjoy! It is the most versatile and powerful tube amp out there.

Marshall would be less if they were a US company, I think in the UK they are as pricey. Buy used

@HollywooRareGuitars, Marshalls are cheaper in the UK (I used to live there), but Gibson and Fender guitars and Fender amps are more expensive there than here in the USA. BTW, I'm from Hollywood and Laguna Beach. During the 1960s and early '70s I lived upstairs above the Whisky. I owned "The Corner Pocket" poolhall and the massage parlor adjacent to it.🙂

Hey do you think this amp is good for gigging small venues? I plan on playing with heavy gain. N would it work for bigger venues if I'm mic up?

I can say a 100w 2x12 all valve combo will be good for any size of venue! In this video he's getting a decent sound and master you can see clearly is on just 2. These are loud enough to take the roof off anywhere. You will never in the real world run this over 7. I'd guess most small-medium gigs will have the master on 3-4 tops.

If you mic it you should do just fine. Having a 2X12 extension cab will also work. You can also use the emulated out into a mixing board if your using one of those also.
