Starting as the fourth seed, Marshall Kent & EJ Tackett defeat Jason Sterner and Tom Smallwood in the opening match. Next, Kent and Tackett move on to beat Sean Rash and Matt Ogle in the second round, before taking down Osku Palermaa and Jakob Butturff. The fourth seed then goes on to defeat D.J. Archer and Shawn Maldonado in the PBA Roth/Holman Doubles Championship Finals.

As a person who bowls semi-competitively, this reaction is BEYOND valid. There is no greater feeling than the end of a long standing grind that you once thought was simply out of reach, only to FINALLY get it. This video confirms what most of us already know: When E.J. Tackett is on, you really can't find another human on our planet who throws more powerful strikes. Those pins might need to be replaced after these matches. Just ridiculous power, and from a one-hander. Marshall Kent bowled well too but it looked like Tackett struck on every ball he threw. I knew he didn't, but it felt like it.

Tackett's ball reaction was just sick. Most of the time on TV when his carry is poor, it looks like his ball is hooking too hard at the pins. If you watch here though, right when his ball gets to the pins it sets up and that's what makes awesome carry.
