Thank you for recording this great history. I saw your interview of Henry Farnbrough of the Spinners and Marshall from the Chi-Lites. Very well done. It is pure gold. Your knowledge and familiarity with the subject matter adds value to the interview.

Have to honestly say, age is undefeated. I was just a lil kid when my teenage sister took me to a concert in Berkeley, CA at The Berkeley Community Center. The Chi Lites were on the bill. I remember Marshall clowning and cutting up on "Oh Let Me Be The Man My Daddy Was." Ah youth... This was followed by Gene hitting an exceedingly protracted hi note that seemed to go on forever which brought the house down. What a group and kudos to Tom for keeping these great memories alive and especially to Marshall for continuing the legacy. All the best.

It's fascinating to me how these early groups are formed, how they got famous, lineup changes, how they break up, how they come back hopefully, and what they are doing now. I really like the relaxing bass, rhythm guitar, and drums of the Chi-Lites as well as the vocals.

I'm 68 years old and just realizing that the Chilites are my favorite group, I've seen all the famous groups, but they are the ones that I love the most, you have to listen to their catalog, the songs that never got any airtime was really their greatest songs, songs like (Give It Away), (Being in Love), and many more.

Songs of my youth, beautiful one of my all time favorite group. I cried to " have you seen her" by Chilites at age 21 when I thought my boyfriend at the time was was going to break up with me. We are now married fir 44 years.

1969/70 I was a freshman at Hampton Institute ( University) when the Chi-Lites came to campus, make it short, Marshall picked me out to introduce the group out of nowhere. I was NY cool I guess. These are not only great singers but even greater people. Will never forget

I love the Chi-Lites and although Marshall Thompson is the "leader" and sole survivor, Mr. Eugene Record was the soul of the group! Eugene led ALL the songs and wrote and produced ALL the hits! Just like the Temptations, the "front men" who truly sold the group never get their proper recognition. Still the Chi-Lites were very good. Their hits still stand today.
