Always great to see your videos! I really need to join the patreon call one of these days, we are in the process of selecting a company to build our shell in Wisconsin and I have much to learn from you and the others. Thanks!

Where in WI? We used to live in rockford and Emily used to work across the border.

Paul we noticed some of the plumbing has the sill seal taped around it for a buffer, and other plumbing has a boxed out area. Can you explain why, the use of one over the other in those instances? Thanks Paul, we are getting some of our sub contractors pulled together and are excited to start our build with the plans we purchased from you! Thanks for your response

We didn’t do the plumbing on this build. I wouldn’t use it as an example. There are a couple videos of mine that you can watch as an example. kzbin.info/aero/PL3QM32YjSVn3waOM9xwmHXwZKgxwUgKLk&si=pTH3uY6KV-mEAqDf

I like all your videos you do a great job I do have one question what do you do when you start to set your walls and anchor them to the concrete floor so you don’t hit your in floor heat tubing
@MrPostFrame Жыл бұрын
We don't need to worry about that. Slab is 5" thick. PEX sits at bottom of the 5" slab. We use a 4 1/4" anchor and 2x4 bottom plate. So anchor is 2 3/4" into concrete slab.

What do you think of embedded radiant heat combined with geothermal? I don’t see much info on using those together.
@bpdp379 Жыл бұрын
Water to water heat pumps are still very costly in the USA but are becoming more mainstream every year.
@MrPostFrame Жыл бұрын
Geothermal is great just expensive. With the way we build and insulate we get great results with gas boilers for our hydronic systems.

@@bpdp379air to water can do the trick and with saved money you could buy enough solar panels to be free from utility bills

How were you able to find the leak in the line? Was it on the end or was it in the field. If it was in the field than that would be almost impossible to find.

Hey what type of gravel are you using? I am using crushed concrete and its too inconsistent on size to compact down nice like you have, whats your tolerance on levelness, within 1/2” or so?

What water temperature do you set your boiler at? Just curious running mine at 103 thinking about dropping it to gain efficiency thanks

Another excellent video Justin! Paul, how do you come up with the floor heating design? I'm looking forward to my install, I just ordered more tubing, manifolds and staples. See you next week and have a good thanksgiving!
@bpdp379 Жыл бұрын
There is free software called LoopCAD that will do the design work for you. Took me a few hours to learn and do the layout for my shop.

There making me go two feet down and two feet out. Kinda worried about the building with loosening the dirt that much around the outside.

Won't the string line droop and not give you an accurate measurement?

Yes if you used the form on our website then our response must have gone to spam. Here is the link we typically get back to you within a couple of days. With the holiday this week it’ll be early next week. www.mrpostframe.com/insulation
