I forgot to mention the amount of cereal! You want to use 120 grams which is about 5 cups! It doesn't have to be exact and you can use a combination of cereals. Here is the full written recipe:bakerbettie.com/marshmallow-cereal-treats/

Hi, Bettie... These things are delicious. My Aunt used to make the butterscotch, and peanut butter-chocolate variations for my brother and I. Brings back some good memories...

Betty, Betty Betty, love your intro love all the old fashion the old ways are the best ways. My mother is 91 because she had healthy good food when she was a child. Kids deserve treats and snacks so hard to get healthy whole clean anything anymore 😔all we can do is our best. There’s so many chemicals. In everything it’s so hard to got around it…. When you know better we should do better. We are all busy and life is so fast paced nowadays. But I would like to learn how to make homemade marshmallows . And I know there’s healthier cereals without colors and food dies . It would be nice just to learn both ways. People tend to take the easy road I just worry about my grandkids the world they’re growing up in I teach them to read labels but thank you for all your time and effort. I love a lot of your recipes I just subscribed. Thank you 🙏🏻

Hi. Nice to have you back. I love the way you explain or teach, very clear and uncomplicated. Lovely bowls by the way. Whenever I go to malls, and in that section, I just feel happy even just by looking at them. If I were younger, I would love to try those yummy cereal treats, but my husband and would you believe even my kids are health buffs. 😊 It would be wonderful if you could share healthier treats. 😊😊😊 Thank you and keep safe and healthy always. 💕💕💕

Hi Genelyn! I'm glad you enjoy my videos. My bowls do bring me a lot of joy as well. I love using them! I'm going to be regularly publishing videos on this channel now. It will be a combination of baking techniques, baking science, sourdough recipes, and other traditional baked goods. For me, enjoying sweets is one part of having a healthy relationship with food- something I haven't always had and have worked very hard to heal.

@@BakerBettie 🧡 🧡 🧡 AMEN AMEN AMEN, I was just wishing this commenter would not have made that age-old (mistaken) distinction of calling some things "healthy" or "healthier" or any of that. After spending about the last 14 years healing my own relationship with food, I was considering whether to come make a comment to you (even though I don't know you) that you don't necessarily have to worry about that and that "healthy" is a word mostly made up and fed by the medical and scientific communities, which most people do buy into, but that having a sweet yummy food is now often exactly the healthiest thing for us, and for our stress levels and mental health (breaking those walls of condemnation). Feels weird to write this publicly because I know how harsh legalistic health people can come down on this. I grew up with it. I even studied it obsessively and religiously followed it, measuring and counting, etc 🤮🤢 Then I saw you had already made the comment and I am glad! 😅😊 Cristina in Texas

You know you never once even said how much of the cereal you're adding to that five tablespoons of butter

I made these for my son's birthday, they turned out so good! I haven't made these since I was a kid. The almond extract and browned butter kicked up the flavor. ❤

I am not sure I understand what an offset spatula is. Can you describe it?
@BakerBettie3 жыл бұрын
It’s the tool I’m using at 2:15. It sort of looks like a palette knife but it is bent at the handle so the metal part is offset from the handle.

Not to come off as an absolute disaster of a human, but it's 12:56 am right now and I WANTED to make custard buns, but I didn't have eggs at home, so I tried to uber eats some eggs, but it's 12:56 am and nothing is open. So I was like, "what ingredients *do* I have?" and the answer was marshmallows. So I found a recipe that used marshmallows (this recipe) and in the end... I somehow made literal caramel. I'm so confused, but this video was very helpful anyways, thanks
