I was born and raised in New Orleans, but I'm in Jacksonville, FL, now. Went yesterday(07/05/23) for some St John's River fishing. I hit the water at 6 and was done by 8:30. It was a blistering day (97 by 10 am). I caught 6 bass. All of them too big to keep. Like you, I like the smaller fish. 12 -14 inches. These were from 3 to 6lbs. I was sweating like a pig and decided to call it a day. I was using a June bug colored 10 in. Culprit worm and a blue/black Matrix craw. I caught 3 on each. I was sweating like a pig and decided to call it a day. Watching your videos make me really miss the marshes of New Orleans East, Lake Catherine area. Keep up the good work!

Looks like that fish saw the bait coming, and it went right into his mouth! Topwater is great, I always loved when the bass would hit topwater. Great video, be safe, and God bless! I think they call that color a Creole color............Kind of clear with pink...

I have noticed the salinity in and around lake Catherine is getting up there. Is this normal? Looks like some of the grass is dying/turning brown. Great video
@MarshManMasson Жыл бұрын
Salinity at Rigolets is running 4 to 6 ppt, which is average or a little below average this time of year. The Pearl is still at minor flood stage, which is pumping a lot of fresh water into the system. More than likely, the grass is succumbing to the high temps.
