Love this spot! When it's on, it's on. Very cool of you to share the video and especially with the boat that came by and recognized you.

Let me know how they turn out if you do.

Todd, You might consider jotting down some of these recipes and snapping some pictures of your creations for a cookbook. If you made one, I’d buy it. I’d pay $65.00 for a sturdy, spiral bound edition.

Are you tagging the reds?

I know you're a fresh fish man, but I will try that fish cake recipe with frozen redfish. I've been too busy to get out in a while, but I have frozen redfish on hand. I'm sure that the fish cakes are more forgiving for frozen fish!!!

Probably so. Let me know how they turn out.

Any report of fish kill from this recent winter snow storm?
@MarshManMasson3 күн бұрын
A few scattered reports. We likely won't know much until the weekend.

Could there be a fish kill with these cold temperatures?
@MarshManMasson2 күн бұрын
I spoke yesterday to Randy Pausina, a biologist who used to run the Fisheries Division of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and he said there will definitely be some kills, but he doesn't expect a situation like we had in 1989. It would have been better if this had never happened, but at least it shouldn't be a worst-case scenario.

This is the time of year I do maintenance on baitcasters,take inventory and buy a reel or two as well as a rod or two.Was cleaning fine Coastal 200 HS and misplaced a yoke spring so I ordered two,just in case and ordered yet another Lew's baitcaster and gonna mate it with Cashion rod in medium with extra fast tip,got good deals on both and in my estimation,Lews baitcasters are hard to beat.Have an older one that I replaced pinion gear on and it is buttery-smooth has fought MANY 27 plus in tanks of reds and had tremendous amount of drag,believe it has 2 stainless drag washers!!

you’re a brave man to go out this cold I stay out of the cold when the water is in the 40s that cold frigid water is extremely hard on powerheads and with today’s prices cost you 10-20 grand for a new motor. I’ll wait for the temperatures to warm up a little bit, I don’t fish in anything below 50° strictly because of my engines
@Deeznuts843563 күн бұрын
Thanks for making that great point. I will take the advice in the future. I just dont like the cold so i wait for the warm up days.
