"Good day, Swedish comrades!" "Good day, field marshal!" "After more than a hundred days' harsh battles Finland has declared peace. United and ready to sacrifice all our people took arms to shield their greatest virtues; honor, freedom and western culture. Now it has seen itself forced, to the superior force concede parts of a beloved motherland; its villages and cities have been burnt and blighted, but its courage has not been cowed and it stands head held high under the protection of its army, which has bled in many battles, but whom the enemy's vastly superior force has not managed to best. Volunteers to Thee, whom over land and sea hastened to our aid, left home and motherland, ready to sacrifice Thine life here upon the Finnish bank, I wish to in the name of the army and my own name express my warm thanks. Thine proud hearts have made Thee our brothers in arms in the battle against the eastern hosts. That of Thee only a small portion arrived to the firefight in time, detracts not from the worth of Thine noble intent. I salute Thee, Swedes, with whom we on many battlefields across centuries shared the honor of victories, but also the bitterness of defeats. Worthy of the Swedish name have thousands of Thee stood themselves at our side. That the help for Sweden has lain at heart, thereupon witnesses the aid in many forms, which with open hand has been given to us, perhaps even at the cost of personal safety. In this time, as violence threatens the freedom of the weak yet worse than times gone by, trampled under heavy boots, the fruits of generations of labor on the fields of culture and progress, as the existence of the small nations is threatened, hath You all proven, that there yet be found men, whom are spurred by noble ideal and faith in life's greatest values. May that brotherhood in arms we here have tied be dedicated to strengthening the common ground and enduringly closen the bonds of our people. Finland's feelings of gratitude and esteem shall never evanesce." "God save Finland!" "God save Sweden!" "Live the Swedish Volunteer Corps and its famed chief, the General of the Cavalry Linder!"

Tack för hjälpen! Now that the eastern bear has woken up again, Finland and Sweden need to cooperate much more. We need to show that Finland's eastern border is the border between the technologically advanced, civilized, peace-loving and free Fennoscandinavia and a power that is thoroughly corrupted, doesn't respect freedom of speech and many other human rights. We don't want the Baltic Sea to be dominated by KGB thugs. So we have a common task.
@carlosmpsenyorcapitacollon69775 жыл бұрын
The "Eastern Bear" will keep waking up is you try to fuck them. After a happy event such as the fall of communism you guys, instead of integrating them in the European family of which they were part till 1917. Germany was fucked and humiliated after WWI. Remember what happened after? Worst war the world has ever seen. Genocide of the Jewish nation. 20 milions of Russians who died fighting the Germany which had "woken up" after the humiliation that was inflicted upon them. On the other hand, the invasion of Finland was totally unjustified. However, the amount of hate to Russia, which as every big power has invaded and oppressed other countries is idiotic and quite similar to the topics the nazis said not only about Russia but about Slavic people in general.

@@carlosmpsenyorcapitacollon6977 I mean Russia could try and stop flying their military aircraft in and around our airspace, perform attacking scenarios to practice invading our islands, have their battleships messing around in our waters and so on. That would definitely help our attitude. But nah it's all our fault, how dare we get angry when the Russians have constantly provoked us for the past 40+ years? I guarantee that if Germany had spent their past 50 years fucking with all their neighbors and use their military to provoke them, maybe run a nuclear submarine aground in their archipelago (Whiskey on the rocks incident) and so on, people would be very fucking mad at Germany too.

One of my favorite adaptations of another old joke reagrading the aftermath of the Talvisota; In the next life, Stalin and Molotov are digging a ditch in the coldest parcel of Karelia. Molotov, bewailing their fate asks Stalin, "Boss, why are we in the cold ditch and Marshall Mannerheim is up above, sipping Finlandia, reading, and taking saunas?" Stalin responds he going up to find out.

So, Stalin crawls out of the ditch and approaches Mannerheim and asks "Why are we destined to dig this ditch for frozen eternity, while you are up here?" Mannerhiem places his hand against the solid wooden beam of the Savu Sauna, and says "See if you can hit my hand with your shovel as hard as you can." So Stalin 'Man of Steel' with all his might swings his shovel as Mannerheim deftly removes his hand. "CLANG" ...
