Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) recognized a need for a video to highlight Phase Two of the Individual Training Course (ITC). iostudio produced a documentary-style narrative featuring on-camera interviews with Marine Raiders. The footage is comprised of drone shots, on-the-ground action, and underwater footage. The purpose of this video was to convey what Marines would gain from training and how it brings them into an elite force.

MARSOC needs more of this. Most marines end up going army or navy if they wanna do socom. Marsoc doesn't have enough shit out about them that makes them look worth doing over another branches socom option.

Exactly and considering the pipeline it’s definitely also more impressive because they grab the top of the top of the top guys unlike other branches where you can just request a contract etc the Marines is more so everything is earned

That's not why they go. They go because the army treats you better .because the army is about numbers . The Marine corp doesn't allow more then 180 thousand in the branch give or take but not off by alot , they don't want to lower the standered for overall recruiting.regular 0311 infantry rifleman do all of this minus the swimming part . We even had a 25 mile ruck when I was in in 2008 . Lots of close quarters combat training lots of land navigation. Alot of range with fire an maneuver . Any rifelman in the marine Corp 0311 should be able to pass ranger school as long as they stay consistent with pt

@@kempaku982 apparently the navy likes to use MARSOC to collect intelligence then they had hand it over to seals. Just basically using the Marines to do all the grunt work they don’t want to do. But it makes sense because the Marine Corps is a department of the Navy. And MARSOC is funded by SOCOM. Things have probably changed a little bit since then. But the Navy still funds, the Marine Corps so it probably hasn’t changed that much.

@@kempaku982 yeah but if they can make someone else do the recon work. So they can get the better mission and take the credit. They are going to do that. The Navy treats the Marine Corps like shit. Every time I went on a boat we were doing their watches and cleaning up. It’s pretty fucked up if you ask me. But the Marine Corps does it to itself. Every time we went on a base that was part of another branch. We were just basically there working party because that’s all we had to offer. We were there to fight and in our downtime, whoever it was, would make us do everything they didn’t feel like having their people do.

if you want to join the Premier Regular Infantry unit in the world, Join the Marines. You will get all your Infantry wishes met. you will get treated like shit, for a reason, and every now and then get to lay waste to take out your resentment and hate in the form of aggression towards the enemy. if you want to join special operations do yourself a favor, in the following order. 18X Army. if you get through you're going to be Special Forces and most likely will have the the opportunity to put in your papers and attempt to select for CAG, it will be a long shot but possible. if you wash out of initial SF selection, you're probably going to be 10th Mountain or 101st Airborne. both units are going to be great units to lay waste to the enemy and you will get treated better than regular Marine Infantry. if you really want to, and you like to gamble, you could go SEAL. If you make it to the Teams, after a couple years in the regular teams you might get to attempt to select for DEV, but half of the approval is a popularity contest. If you wash out of BUD/s....well, you're in the big Navy now, lol. best case scenario is you were smart and went Corpsman and you can serve greenside with the Marines. if you join the Marines thinking you're going to go special warfare, man, even if you make it, you never, ever make it out of the mentality that the Marines have. Which is "you aint special" and you'll end up sitting there in MARSOC, thinking you're a Tier 1 unit (which MARSOC isnt), watching all the really Great Hits go to CAG and DEV and waiting for the call to do what the Tier 2 SEAL teams leave for you.

@@carknower short answer? Yes, everyone gets treated better than Marines treat their Infantry Units. it's a fucked-up source of pride amongst 0300 MOS's. long answer is that my original post does also answer your question. if you want to earn the title and be part of the premier regular infantry unit in the world, join Marine Infantry and call it a day. if you want to go Special Operations, i would go Army 18x contract, skip all the bullshit. if you can make it your in, and then you can shoot for Tier 1 from there. if you happen to not make it, you usually get assigned to 10th mountain or 101st, still pretty cool. in my opinion, SEAL contract is too big a gamble. who wants to end up in the regular Navy?

I don't doubt that the 1st narrator WAS A HARD CHARGER WHO WAS BORN READY FOR USMC and all that the Corps. had to offer etc. etc. But c'mon man, MAKING THE COMMENT THAT "BOOT CAMP JUST DIDN'T DO IT FOR YOU," Implying that the hardest, longest most challenging boot camp that our U.S. Military HAS TO OFFER, WAS FOR YOU PRETTY EASY/ LAME/UNCHALLENGINFG and pretty much just petty easy, I'M PRETTY CERTAIN NO HUMAN ALIVE has left PARRIS ISLAND after 3 grueling month's of making young. boys into YOUNG MEN, (MARINES), thinking to themselves "hey that wasn't so bad. I could probably do that again in my sleep!!!!!"🤔🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏾🤷🏽

He's allowed to have that attitude. Why? Because if he's starving for a bigger challenge, boot camp was like a snack. That is absolutely the kind of attitude you need to have before you consider MARSOC. But its not the sole thing that will save you. You have to take the attitude and make it action.

@@kurtzlundstedt6127to be fair I think a lot of Marines forget how miserable boot camp was. I went through MCRDSD in 2007 and A&S in 2010. A&S was much harder, but I’d do it again 10 times before ever doing another 3 months at the depot as a recruit. A&S is a bigger test of determination, maturity, and physical/mental strength, but boot camp is a physical and psychological torture fest, especially considering that most recruits are straight out of high school. I think a good example of the difference is comparing the rucks at A&S vs the humps at MCRD. The rucks in A&S are longer and overall more challenging because you have to have the discipline to set your own pace, but there’s something about a forced march that just amplifies misery. A timed ruck run is peaceful and almost enjoyable by comparison, even if it does require more effort.
