MARTELLS VS STARKS - ASOIAF SO4 - BATTLE REPORT: FEAST FOR CROWS

This is an older video that I finally got around to editing. There were a number of gameplay mistakes in this one so apologizes in advance. I have tried to get out in-front of them with notes in the video and post correction on scoring. As always though it was a learning process and most importantly a fun and friendly game!
This one sees ElectricJesus and his Martells up against Dunc and the Starks!

I could be wrong, but I think Widower’s Protection requires line of sight regardless of the Bowmen’s ability, because it keys off Jokin and not the Bowmen.

Hey thanks for watching and commenting! His card does not reference range or line of sight which would (I believe) mean it depends on the units attack abilities. Open to a discussion on this though. What do other people think?

I believe the trigger for Overwatch is "When an enemy ends a march or manoeuvre action within long range and line of sight of a unit". So before you make a ranged attack you need to satisfy that trigger. If you're not in LOS you haven't met the second condition so you don't get to make the free ranged attack. I don't believe the ranged attack abilities affect the conditions for the order.

@@ricksentam3174this is the ruling I was thinking about, with Crannogman Warden in Bowmen. One could argue that Widowers Protection is a different ability, but I’d personally use the same LOS requirement.

I misread which version of Jokin we were talking about! @underthehedgegaming is right that Widowers Protection just references an attack or charge action. If it's an attack you would just use the ranged attack abilities. So Widowers Protection on Stark Archers would ignore units and terrain in determining LOS when making that attack!

11:21 Naughty (or not knowing rules) Martell player: Incite and Martial training are both orders with the same trigger, so only one can be used. GD is the worst possible attachment to RG as both of his abilities are kinda useless with them 😂

Question. This place is in quebec right. Its all in english, are people speaking english there and not french. Want to play sone games there but dont speak french.

Yea it is in Gatineau. It is bi-lingual. I also am not fluent in French either and we always play asoiaf in English. That said you can play in whatever language you are comfortable with so long as your opponent is too. Our group is predominantly English though. If you want to play asoiaf I can add you to our FB group where we discuss and organize meetups for the game.

Yes it was missed more then once but it was remembered later and make-up tests were taken. Changes things though and we’ve all gotten better at remember this. Thanks for watching and commenting.
