Marth's Crescent Slash is probably one of the best custom moves in the game, as fthrow into crescent slash is a true combo at low/mid-low percents and it will always tipper. It also gives a lot of air mobility after using it, making it safe to use near the edge.

for all the people interested, a newly discovered marth combo: aerial side b (first hit) > nair (first hit, autocancel) > jab > repeat. You can replace some moves for mix-ups but this is the most secure one.

Marth has a combo that can kill at mid to high percents depending on the character, probably 70% being a good limit. Short hop side b only using the first hit, then use neutral air which will make it so marth only hits you once. Then use the first swing of his jab twice, making sure it doesn't connect to the second swing, and f smash. The f smash should tipper because of the two first swipe jabs spacing the opponent out for a tipper reach. This works with Lucina as well but instead of using the first swipe of jab twice only using it once since two isn't necessary, but it can still work just for that little bit of extra damage.

You forgot to mention that using Marth's Final Smash in the air is extremely risky and likely to result in a Self Destruct. You tend to do a great job of going in-depth with each character's moves, but I suggest giving a bit more information about risky moves like that. A brand new Marth player might not know about it, and you don't want them thinking you were holding out on them! :P Marth's Side Special 3 looks like a lot of fun. I had no idea it was that powerful... Looks like I'll be making a new custom Marth today! :D Thanks for the informative and entertaining video! Marth and Lucina's Final Smash is highly evasible (by barely air-dodging it) and has a self-destruct risk. If you use it in mid-air, that may result in a self-destruct if the target air-dodges it.

I know a lot of Marth combos. Jump then instantly use side b once then you neutral air then forward smash. You can play around with that. :)

I like to play as Marth because keeping the opponent at a distance in Smash is a true blessing. My only problem is that the Shield Breaker is very difficult to use, and since it's a neutral special, I use it often by mistake. This is especially frustrating when you need Dolphin Slash to recover. When going against stronger or more varied fighters online, Marth is the one I go to most often. I find Lucina useful, too. Sometimes you can't get your opponents at the ideal range. Lucina is a more balanced fighter, for those who don't like Marth's gimmick.

You can up Marth's combo power by intentionally sour-spotting to rack up even more damage. for instance, side B, Sour Sour Sour Sweet does more damage than Sour Sweet, because the target may take to much knock back.

The third down special is called Iai Counter, not Lai Counter. Iai is a style of sword fighting where the blade is re-sheathed after each strike.

Marths final smash has a slight issue with stopping before it hits a target. If you tend to be using it and stopping when there is nothing in your way, try jumping and immediately using your final smash, so you will use it while slightly in the air. Just be careful not to shoot yourself over the edge :D

I would like you to do Greninja up next, I even know of a combo that can almost always insta-kill on stages with a pit that you can fall. Get your opponent to the edge of a platform and do a dash attack followed up by a down aerial. This works perfect when your opponent is on top of a pit because Greninja's down aerial let's him hit from any hight on top of the opponent and also, Greninja uses the opponent as a springboard (kinda like Sonic) once he hits his down-aerial thus letting you easily recover.

as a long time marth player (and my girlfriend being a lucina player) it became clear to me that lucina not only loses the tipper but LITERALLY loses the tipper, making her sword shorter. Additionally, her attacks and movement speed are a bit faster, enabling close-up aggressive play

Ninetales Commander Lucina's not really as good, but it all comes down to personal preference. People consider her Marth with training wheels, whereas with Marth it can be difficult at first, once you get spacing down he's really good, with Lucina you get that initial power without having to master her at first, but no tipper makes her nowhere near as viable.

You guys are gonna judge me for this, but this is a risky but true combo that only works in low percentages. DOWN THROW TO REVERSE UP-B. The reason it's risky is that it will leave Marth open and your opponent could DI. On the other hand, it's for great mind games, so its best not to do it all the time. :)

I think lucinas moves might also have a shorter range and less knockback, also while marth's sweetspot hits have a stun mechanic similar to the use of a counter (you know where the game kind of pauses) Lucina's do not. Just wanted to clear that up because lucina is not an easier version of Marth, she's cool and while she is a clone she can still be used effectively.

After the release of Roy, I feel like Marth and Lucina have been made insignificant. As he combines the speed of Marth with the strength of Ike. He combos MUCH better because of his down and forward throws, his sweetspot is bigger, and he is arguably EVEN FASTER than Marth. I've tested it, Roy's dash speed as well as a lot of his attacks are faster. It kind of makes Marth and Lucina useless, although Ike still has his uses because he has a completely different moveset. Also 1.08 buffed Marth, Lucina, and Ike. I would argue that Ike is now better than Marth because of SO many buffs in speed. His forward air now has the same ending lag as Marth's for example. Pls make strategy guide for our boy Roy

***** There isn't a tier list for Smash 4 yet. Not an official one anyway. The most accurate one would probably be the Smashboards monthly tier list or the Reddit tier list. Don't trust any other ones. Robin is different from the others though. He/she plays too differently to be fairly compared. He/she got good buffs in 1.10 though so if I ranked all the FE characters I would do it like : Roy, Ike, Robin/Marth, Lucina.

Personally, when i bought Ryu, i was a little disappointed by Ryu, he's too show for me, i prefer fast characters, and he's not so mobile in the air, but his attacks are really strong, but Roy, i really liked him, he is a really hard hitter, and agile!
