I love the fact that everyone commenting that they're playing this for a solo or audition is being respected. No "oh you're a junior? Well I'm a freshman and I bet I could play it better". I'm personally a sophomore playing this for an audition for the Atlantic Brass Quintets, and I wish the best of luck to anyone playing this for an audition!

I got a 1 playing this solo Saturday at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest! The tips on Carl Lenthe's "LentheLessons" website provides in depth information on the techniques used in this solo and they helped me so much for preparing this piece for the contest. This is the best version of "Adante et Allegro" recorded on the Internet for a player's reference to get a feeling of the Impressionism shown throughout the piece and not just rush, rush, rush.

Nick Cavallo Congratulations!!! I also played this piece, only it was for my juries my third semester in a junior college. I got an "A" overall, it is such a beautiful piece to play when you are capable enough to express it. This is a piece I would recommend any Trombone or Euphonium player to play either for any solo competitions or auditions. Has so much technique and expression!!!!

@yoondory Hmm, I've never ever heard of an unaccompanied solo (other than Piano solos) before. So play it as normal, but make sure you follow Lenthe's speed to the last digit, otherwise it sounds way too fast. I swear, every other recording of people playing it is waaay too fast. He starts it off at about 44 BPM. Just make sure you follow him.

I played this for a recital my freshman year. Here’s a few tips: Try maintaining a constant tempo; this will help with keeping runs and note lengths smooth. Triple tounging definitely made the last section significantly easier for me so working on that helps. Alternate slide positions also helped. Good luck dude, I hope this piece doesn’t cause too much trouble, a lot of it comes down to practicing fundamentals like range, tone, and fast tounging
