Martha C. Nussbaum: The Monarchy of Fear

So much public-facing philosophy can be off putting in its degree of introspection, loftiness or self-aggrandisement of it's author. I find Martha Nussbaum really impossible to ignore because it feels like she writes really communally, somehow. She cares about the human condition, and my experience of it, as much as any writer I can think of.

I don't agree that she is a careerist. Disagree, in fact. On the first. As would Alvin Lee, yet on Woodstock.
