I have made this pie several times now. It is THE BEST pie I’ve ever made, and everyone who tastes it is smitten. It is the perfect warm-weather pie. Note: it is not difficult, but is time-consuming. I would suggest making the lemon curd a day (or two!) early, just to break up the amount of work is takes.

This is truly a magical Lemon Meringue Pie. She spoons the meringue into the clear pie plate, then after being baked, a pie crust appears as she is serving it. Its a miracle!

What a great way to do lemon meringue pie! It is my favorite, too, though I don’t like when the bottom crust gets soggy. This would avoid that happening. And it could be done with any fruit curd.

I made the first Upside Down Lemon Meringue Pie - EXACTLY as here described, but it comes out of the oven "half-baked" and broke into pieces... like fluid...but everything was like done as described.

Look online for how to avoid meringue "weep" or "weeping". There are a few reasons -- one is that the sugar hasn't completely dissolved. Another is the cooking time. And there are others....
