"the one who did the boxing for her? They use no mo-cap for this show. Its all hand drawn

It's CG, so not all hand drawn, but all hand animated.

@@dratini1247 The animators used models for the characters and scrnarios but the textures and effects are all hand drawn. Its basically 40% models 60% hand drawn
@wwklndАй бұрын
@@manuelangel5516 Specifically, they modeled and animated the characters and other 3D stuff by hand in Maya using reference videos that were often just the animators themselves acting out the scene, with hand painted textures on the models (likely using Substance Painter), but most of the backgrounds are just 2D paintings composited in with AfterEffects and Nuke. The VFX are all hand animated 2D stuff done on twos/half frame rate, which gives a really interesting effect since it means the 3D stuff is rendered at 24fps but the visual effects are done at 12fps.

No motion capture in Arcane. 🙂

They used references. I'm pretty certain they've used actual fight scenes, whether irl or movies, then copy animated them, frame for frame
@KikiMk062 ай бұрын
@@chrishaven1489 usually, that's how animation works, so if it's not motion capture or rotoscopy (similar to motion capture), then you almost always assume they had references, andf it's not always copy frame by frame of actual fight footage, just reference. If you copy a live action fight frame by frame, then it's not going to look good in animation since it has it's own rules for movement

7:26-8:03 I feel like the reason some fight scenes feel a bit fast is because if you’ve ever been in a fight, it feels like everything is happening in a instant but if your an outsider looking in that said fight irl it doesn’t look like it, and that’s what I love about it, the essence of being able to see how they perceive the fight itself the way they do
@Sinvare2 ай бұрын
The show is worth watching for the animation alone. Love how the different colors in the fights make it easier to follow and see which side is which in wide shots.
@steffanhymer12852 ай бұрын
like other comments said. no motion capture. much of the world and all of the characters are 3D CG, but then those characters are animated with hand painted textures and hand drawn 2d effects (yes painted. it gets mentioned in behind the scenes content. every frame is painted over by artists to create the look). they just used reference room material for a lot of the scenes they needed to animate. the specifically made it part of their design to never use motion capture.

The gloves doesnt give superhuman strengt, they have anti-gravity properties. Its never explicitly stated but heavily insinuted, nbeyond any quastioning imo. Theyre enhanced with the exact same magic that has literally dispelled gravity mutiple times before. And the most telling hint is from the fight with Sevika, the woman she tosses the pool table at. When Sevika destroys one of Vis gauntlets 07:27 it *_immediately_* drops to the flor and pulls Vi down with it and she can no longer lift it. Also, if they gave superhuman strenght, enough to literally jugle pool tables, she would turned Sevikas bines to dust with the first blow.

@H4MM-R2 ай бұрын
I think it's both. Even when the pool table wasn't affected by gravity, it still had inertia. The gauntlets also enhance the force behind Vi's punches.
@uli1118 күн бұрын
They do give superhuman strength for sure. In the scene where he picks up the rock the "show" of how impressive it was, was him crushing the solid rock. Not to mention her using the gauntlets to crush metal and punch people at mach speed laterally (not just vertically). If they were solely anti gravity, the gauntlets wouldn't be able to facilitate any of what I said. Hextech is a tool of immense power, that has numerous uses. Mobility/teleportation being only one of those uses.

I don't know if it's a thing or not. But I'd like to think that Vi's original gauntlets have a kind of shock absorber or shock kicker effect to them, where the weight and mass can be stored up as potential energy and released upon any kind of impact. Like a punch. I mean, I think that's how they work? Otherwise, they're basically just dead weight on the arms.
@-siranzalot-Ай бұрын
Vi's (or rather Vanders) original Gauntlets don't have any tech to them. They are more akin to a Cestus and she's probably gripping a handlebar on the inside to not crush her fists on any given blow. Also having an extra probably around 20 pounds of metal on your fist during a punch is most definitely not dead weight, but a serious death threat for the one eating the punch

"Earn the wide" is an insanely appropriate term! Too many rapid-cut fights to make up for terribad choreography. I'd say it takes MORE skill to deliver impact and momentum with rapid cuts even though people are using the style to make up for subpar fights. The only good rapid cut fights would be, what, Winter Soldier and Extraction? Versus just leaving it wide and paying the premium to have a great stunt crew.
