Good to hear that someone has finally stood up to security for their unlawful abuse of their authority. However I am hopeful that this type of abuse will eventually be taken to the courts, win or lose it will put them on notice.

Absolutely spot-on in your analysis of what is reasonable force, Marti. I'm a retired policeman and now help people with civil and criminal cases. Pushing someone in the chest is a no-no. As you correctly say, it can cause a person to fall over backwards. Potentially, that could result in a head, neck or spinal injury. The control and restraint you describe is the only type of force which is, generally, considered to be reasonable. When assessing psychological damages, look at the Vento Scales which will provide you with guidance as to how much to claim and under what circumstances.

Very pleased that you have successfully made this claim. I have been extremely disappointed in how often Private firms have abused Auditors without anyone making a claim. Making claims is very easy, and follows a very simple path, as you have shown. 👍👍👍

Well done Marti and Alfie Audits. Great result. I’ve done similar against a company that failed to comply with subject access requests. One claim went as far as mediation after the claim was filed in the small claims court. Most the time a letter of claim followed by letter of intent to sue will be enough to get the company to pay. Their legal costs will quickly increase so any small claim is in their interest to settle.

Well done mate, very professional. A couple of points, if you head your letters "Without Prejudice" and drop a bollock within the letter it can not be used against you later in court. Also G4S did not close their offer letter "In full and final payment" so if you wanted and had new evidence you could go for them again.
