I have a small sewing space in my bedroom. I make it work for me. I have three Sterilite cabinets with drawers. I also have three plastic containers that have slots to keep my threads. I am content with my sewing space.

It’s definitely a good thing to be content with what you have. You’re still able to create!

You could use longer pegboard hooks to go through both sides of the basket so that it sits upright.

I have a small sewing space as well. It is actually a small bedroom that I use as my computer desk space, makeup/spa space, and sewing table. I am so grateful to have this area. I start many days here in mediation and prayer before I take on the day. I am a new subscriber and have already enjoyed watching 3 of your videos this evening.

Thank you so much for this! I have a very small sewing space. My desk is shared with our homeschool room. I have everything in my sewing bags after I’m done due to not having space, which causes me to not want to sew as much. I just love this idea so much. The peg board is such a great idea. I also love writing fabric only on the scissors cause my kids and husband always want to use them also. Thank you so much ❤️

Please if you can could you tell me how do you like your sewing machine. I've had owned a cheap brother sewing machine . It a good machine...just could never figure out how to make button holes...You are greatly appreciated 🙂

Love it. We don't have enough small space sewing videos to be inspired by. Incredible use of space. Love the Home Depot peg boards and the WalMart storage containers. The peg boards are really attractive. I like the large holes. I might switch my storage containers to the WalMart ones if I can find them since they match. Thanks for an inspiring video. I love my Brother 1064D serger! I bought the Brother 6000 machine to use when we go to the mountains for 2 weeks every summer and otherwise it is my backup machine at home. That machine makes beautiful buttonholes. ❤ I would love to watch a bias binding video even though I do make bias binding with the kit. 😊😊❤

I know about sewing in small spaces, even though sewing things are organized I still felt that my bedroom was always cluttered. I love how you have all of your notions separated and in totes.

Martika! I love your little bins with bias tape, buttons, etc! I have a 3 drawer organizer for my sewing nic nacs too! I also use a table box for my smaller items, like needles, zipper feet, etc. The one I have is a 3-drawer version. It folds out and is really convenient, as well as a space saver. The handle atop the tackle box is really convenient as well.

Glad you're feeling better. Thanks for this video. I procrastinate and struggle to keep things organized. Much of what you've shared, I have some portion of it in place but I'm not consistent with KEEPING it organized. When it gets to out of wack, it steals my time to get back in my space to sew.... Enough already...thamks🥰
@martikajmakes2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome! Things can easily get out of wack in small spaces. I just try and take out what I need and put it back in place when I’m done. This helps me keep things from building up.

I love your small space and your positive attitude towards using and making the best of what you have and being grateful for it. I am wondering where you cut out your fabric? I have been blessed to have always had a sewing room in our homes over the years and its something that I appreciate. Great video thankyou Martika, from Saleena

I actually have a high bed, so I place my cutting boards on my bed or I take them to my dining room table to cut. I thought about getting a foldable cutting table, but I’ll have my own sewing room in the near future. Thank you so much!

Yes!!!!! i love that giant inch print. I need to something similar. I get so confused with measuring markings too. That's part of the reason why I haven't started with patterns yet. But I plan to start working with patterns real soon. I too have a glass container I keep my smaller items in like seam ripper, hem gauge, etc... got mine from the local Goodwill Store. Thanks for this video and sharing.

Hello and glad to hear you're feeling better. Thank you for The Giant Inch." I printed it out and will be laminating it. I have a spare/craft room, but moved to our old computer table. Now I can listen to the shows my husband is watching and talk to him.

Thank you so much! I don’t mind it too much until my husband has to go to bed since he gets up so early. It can be a little challenging at times when I’m working on something, but we make it work.

Well, you really didn't show us your sewing space. You just showed a bunch of plastic bins you store stuff in. A sewing space includes walls, windows, the theme, an idea of the flow of the room, and the machines.
